Energy
Energy is used to complete quests. Each quest costs a specific amount of energy to complete. Energy recharges slowly over time as you rest away from the game. The Oracle is able to provide a full energy refill in return for favor points. You can increase your maximum energy in the Keep page, every time you level up.
Health
Health determines how many times you can fight before needing to heal. When your health drops below 0, your opponent is rewarded an increase to their kill count. Similarly, when you eliminate an enemy by dropping their health to 0, your kill count is increased. You can view your statistics in the Keep page. You can also increase your maximum health at the keep page, every time you level up.
Stamina
Stamina is used in battles. Each battle fight against another player costs 1 point of stamina. Stamina recharges over time. You can increase your maximum stamina in the Keep page, every time you level up.
Experience
Experience is rewarded for doing quests, fighting battles and training friends. The green experience bar located to the top right corner of the game shows how much experience you currently have and how much it will take to advance one level. Once you fill up your experience bar, you will gain a level and the experience bar will reset. Every time you gain a level you are rewarded 5 skillpoints that you may distribute towards one of your Stats: energy, health, stamina, attack or defense.
Quests
Do quests to progress in the game's story and earn gold and experience. The quests page is divided into multiple stages. The first stage of the game is the "Land of Fire". This stage has 5 regular quests and one special quest. To progress to the next stage you need to earn influence in the first 2 quests of the stage. Do each quest several times until you fill up the green influence bar on the left side of the quest.
Gaining influence - In later stages, you will need to equip the proper general to earn influence and progress in a quest. On the left side of each quest is a picture of the general that you have to equip before undertaking that quest. To equip a general, click on the large portrait on the top right of the screen currently set to your active general. From there, click a general to equip.
Unlocking other stages - The other stages of the game are "Land of Earth", "Land of Mist" and "Land of Water". Click on the "Locked" link above each stage icon at the top of the quest page to find out what is required to progress to that stage. If you have completed the requirements, the stage icons will be shown as unlocked and colored. You can click the image of the stage, such as "Land of Earth", to list the quests for that stage.
Battles
Fight other online players through the Battle system. There are two options for battling, invading and duels.
Invading - Invading will attack the opposing player with your whole army. One soldier, one item, and one magic spell are used to the fight for each army member you have. For every 5 army members you have, one of your generals will also join the fight. Invading favors players with a large army count, and an even distribution of items, soldiers and number of generals. Your attack and defense stats may also drastically affect the battle.
Dueling - Duels pit your active general against the opposing player's active general. Equip your best general to duel. Duels favor players that invest in a few, but high quality equipment, a better active general. Your attack and defense stats will greatly affect battles.
Heroes
You may hire many heroes in Castle Age, but you may only have one of them set as your General at any given time. Buy heroes at the Heroes page and set them by clicking on the large active general portrait on the top right of the screen or by navigating to the generals page(Heroes page->Generals page). Your currently set general is shown on the top right hand side of the screen.
Town
The town page is divided into four sections. The town is where you buy soldiers, items, and land. You can also stats on the magic spells that you've collected during your quests.
Soldiers - soldiers give you extra attack and defense during battles. Each army member you have will be equipped with a soldier when invading. Soldiers are not used during duels.
Black Smith - Vulcan the blacksmith can forge some higher quality equipment than what your soldiers normally use. His services are somewhat expensive however, and are best used to equip your generals for duels when you are at a lower level. Only one item is equipped per soldier during Invading. The game will automatically choose the highest defense items to use for defending, and the highest attack items for attacking.
Magic - Magic spells can only be obtained through questing. This page allows you to view the magic spells that you have acquired. There will be more quests to obtain spells from in the future.
Land - Land allows you to earn income hourly. Invest early to earn a lot of gold for more soldiers, items and magic later on. The price of land increases as you own more land.
Oracle
You can purchase refills, special items, generals, magic spells and soldiers at the The Oracle page. The Oracle can grant your wish for a donation in favor points. Alternatively, a limited number of favor points can also be acquired at the Training Grounds.
Demi Powers
Once every 24 hours you can receive a blessing from a Demi Power. Each blessing you receive will increase one of your stats: health, attack power, defense, stamina or energy. You may trade blessings at a later time for unique epic items as well as undertake special quests given by each Demi Power.
Keep
The Keep page is divided into three sections, stats, treasury and comments. The Stats section is where you can see your stats, upgrade your stats if you have extra skillpoints, view gifts that were given to you as well as consumables(energy refill potions that were given to you by other players), view the soldiers, items, magic, generals and land that you have collected throughout your adventures.
Treasury - The Treasury widget is located below your stats box in the Keep page. For a 10% fee, you can hide your wealth at the treasury. Hiding your gold means that other attacking players cannot rob you of your well earned money.
Army
A large army count allows you to utilize all of your items, soldiers and magic spells when invading. You may also give your army members gifts, peace offerings and consumable potions. The comments section allows you to interact with your army. If you like the game, help spread the word!
