  • Which Treasure Chests give the best IA bonuses?

    Summary:

    1st place:

    The Oblivion and Onslaught Chests.
They're from far the best chests for Item Archives bonus (Oblivion for Defense and Onslaught for Attack).
All the non-hero common and uncommon items give +4 atk/def each.

    2nd place:

    The Vanguard Chest.
It's also a great Chest. All of its non-hero common and uncommon items give IA bonus, but "only" +3 def each, which is why Oblivion and Onslaught are better.

    3rd place:

    The Nightfall Chest.
Even though its non-hero items give "only" +2.5 atk/each on average, all items (including heroes) in this chest provide IA bonus.

    Not so great chests:

    - The Alpha Chest non-hero items only provide +2 atk each. In addition, only 6 of its 10 equipment + soldiers are interesting as the 4 others can be acquired through Monster hunting.
    - The Annihilator Chest non-hero items provide +4 atk each, however only 6 out of 22 give IA bonus. So on average, we could say those 22 items give only +1.09 atk each.

    Almost useless chests:

    - The Reckoning Chest. Only 7 of its 24 non-hero items bring IA bonus. And 3 of them are Rare pulls.
    - The Corruption Chest. Only Rare and Epic pulls give IA bonus. And not that much to get.

    Completely useless chests:

The Battlelust, Ascension, Phoenix, Wrath and Conquest Chests give each a total of +0 to +35 def/atk.

    Notes:
    - Some bonus points are missing as there are certain Sets in certain Archives which require Heroes from several different Treasure Chests (or Favor Generals and equips, or limited time items), and I didn't count those sets. However they bring very few points anyway.
    - It's probably best to focus on 1 Chest rather than several different, as you will end up getting the Sets bonuses if you focus on 1 single chest.

This is something people should take always in mind. This info, I mean.
The question about "which chest should I buy" raises from time to time and this is a methodical approach to a math-based answer. I like it.

Now, player's only need to ponder how much they need a specific piece of gear or general and see if it makes sense to fight the odds or go for best plain simple ratio roll/bonus.

        Yep

For instance, even if you're only interested in Malekus in the Vanguard Chest, I suppose rolling it anyway is not a bad idea as you can get a lot of IA bonus in the process.

Personally I'm "lucky" that the heroes I'm interested in are mostly in the Oblivion and Nightfall chest.

But because of IA I think I'm never going to roll the Corruption chest even though Jera is interesting.

Even thought Onslaught and Oblivion are best for Item archives, I personally usually go with Nightfall chest. Lots of item archives and also vampire alliance generals. Love that chest

Nightfall is great, however Oblivion also has some great generals such as Kobo (can be really nice to have). I'm also interested in Halcyon and Hyacinth (the latter can be great for the Lost Dungeon for me, and Halcyon to help me heal more on some monsters).
And I'm only missing Alistair from Nightfall now (I've used many of my free rolls on it for a while) and I'm also getting diminishing returns for IA from this chest...

I put the link to this thread (and another one) at the end of this wiki article's section: https://castleage.fandom.com/wiki/It..._Stats_Bonuses
(since then the Legendary and Limited archives were updated and the Kingdom one added, so it's a bit outdated)

I'm not taking the time to update the wiki nor this kind of stuff though, sorry.
I'd love to have this kind of info available as well, but I'm not going to make it happen myself (and I doubt anyone else will, but who knows).

Kingdom is probably the best chest for IA though, since all the common and uncommon stuff provides +5 atk or def. I haven't compared the set bonuses though, or done the math globally.
