I've recently returned from a long hiatus. Nowadays I just focus on epics and not battles.

Yea game sucks anymore. I see some very high levels not buying FPs. I'm leaving in December even if the game doesn't end by then. Just no fun and all work just attempting to do battles etc.

[The Resurrection]

A man walk into a restaurant and order his usual breakfast, a ham & vegetable omelette, 2 pieces of toasts, some hash brown, a glass of orange juice, and a cup of coffee.

The waiter brought him his breakfast and he began to enjoy his nice meal, until he realizes there was a cockroach in his omelette. He calls the waiter and complains, "There is a cockroach in my omelette. What kind of establishment is this?" The waiter take the food back and 2 hours later bring his new breakfast.

The next day, the man come back to the same restaurant, ordering the same meal. This time, he discovers his toasts do not look quite right. They are a bit soggy with some dirt and hairs on them, as if they were drop on the floor, got pick up and put back on to the plate. The man again called the waiter and complained, "My toast look like they were drop on the floor. They have dirt and hairs on them. What kind of establishment is this?" The waiter took his food back and gave him an automate ticket number for his complaint and tell him to wait for the chef to reply. Apparently, the waiter has other duties and he can not wait on the man.

The following day, the man again comes into the same restaurant and order the same breakfast. The waiter again brought the man his usual meal. This time the man find no cockroach in his omelette or hairs on his toast. He smile and was happy. He picks up his glass of orange juice and take a sip, but as soon as the juice enter his mouth, the man spit it out immediately. Angrily, he calls the waiter again and complains, "My orange juice is stale and old as if it has been sitting out for months, and it smells as if there is horse piss mix in it. What the hell kind of establishment is this?" To this the waiter replies, "Well sir, you must really like our establishment, because apparently no matter how terrible is our service or our foods, you keep on coming back and we will keep on taking your money (and your time)."

The waiter then looks at the man squarely in the eyes and asks him, "Sir, will you come back tomorrow for your usual breakfast again?" The man looks at the waiter and hesitates for a moment then replies, "I would tell you "no", but more than likely I will come back because I have nowhere else to go."

I would change the ending of this to "I would tell you no, but more than likely I will come back tomorrow because all my friends come here every day too and I would miss their companionship a lot" THAT, from my experience of watching this play out over 8 years if far closer to the truth.

The previous developers couldn't fix the blue swirls, no matter how hard they tried. I suspect that Gaea would very much like to improve the game and keep players happy but they found that it's a legitimately difficult problem. Some problems can't be solved by throwing more money at it.

Without solving the performance problem, releasing new content would be a waste of resources from a financial point of view. New content costs resources to develop. If they can't count on the system performing well enough to take payments reliably when they release new content, then there is no incentive to develop new content. In order for it to be cost-effective to release new content, the system has to be stable enough to convert the renewed player enthusiasm into bigger numbers in the revenue column.

I think you have it nail on the head with this assessment; I also have come to this conclusion myself.

As for whether people who have either quit, are quitting the game, or being inactive or not, the way I see it is, as long as anyone who still visit and interact with this forum, then they are still connected and attached to this game, (whether they would admit that to themselves or not). And that mean the relationship is not yet at its end.

I have tried to quit CA several times, some period were longer than others, several weeks, several months, once more than a year. I am still trying but not yet successful. These days, I am much less active, but I am still attached to CA obviously, b/c I am still visiting this forum. I would only consider myself that I have quit CA when I erase the key to my CA account and never look back on it, and never visit the forum, just like I did with that game Wartune long ago.

Tell him the only thing you need to look at to see that people have quit or become inactive is the monster leaderboard.

I think as falco mentioned people are not leaving the game...they are just skipping gbs due to a lack of proper reward...

We are also noticing a decline in activity. It means some people are just leaving the game. We don't hold onto inactive "players" so will no doubt cut some and recruit some fresh blood.
It seems a symptom of many things, frustration mostly, at lack of new seasons, having to fight cheating guilds, blue balls and no new content. I'm personally at an all time low with this game and have started spending on another that deserves the $
