I haven't been on the forums for a while, but am all the same surprised that promos last a week. I seem to recall reading yesterday, that we now get 2 promos a month.

My question would then be, how is it possible that some of my guild still have the Chaos promo showing up for over a month.

edit: promos are too frequent if they are fortnightly, especially if they are a rehash of old ones. Just my opinion.

All 3 of my minis saw the different promo packs that showed up once I reached a certain level with them. When my smallest toon hit level 230 he was supposed to get the second Stone Cold Promo, but the Chaos Promo showed up instead. That was a couple months ago, but maybe that is why some of your guildmates are seeing the Chaos promo. I believe last one goes away at level 250, but idk because I bought the Promo.

It's not my reading it that matters, it's that it's a bit hypocritical to complain about post length when you're like the most prolific wall of texter ever.

Well, at least you were apparently able to recognize my sarcasm for what it was.

But I see the same nonsense that you're trying to peddle in user forums and chat rooms for every internet game that I play on a regular basis that has an FtP option.

"Spenders have such tremendous advantages over non-spenders. It's Sooooooooo Unfair!"

I'm going to stop you right here.

First because it's mostly TLDR; (although I did skim through it. That's worth half a sticker, right?) but mostly because you couldn't be more wrong about what I'm getting at.

I 100% agree that people who spend money on the game should get some form of advantage. I just don't believe that it should be an advantage that can -not- also be obtained by other means than spending money.

I believe that the primary advantage for any FP buyer, whether they (only) buy promos or not, is saving time.

You can use FP to buy refills. Refills will negate the time needed to normally regenerate your resources, which allows you to farm for items or SP faster, thus saving you time.

You can use FP with the oracle or chests to obtain generals and gear. Buying FP for that purpose negates the time you would need to farm enough FP to make those purchases thus saving you time.

If you happened to buy a promo that contained hero potions or crystals then obtaining those items negates the time you would need to farm for the powders and//or crystals you just obtained, saving you time.

Saving time is a big deal. It's the kind of big deal that people are willing to spend money on and lots of it. You mentioned Zynga and how horrible a company they were/are. This is true. However, you might want to check what exactly people were spending money on. You'll find that they were spending money to save time. In their case mostly the time needed to beg their friends to please send them more crap but time was saved nonetheless.

There is lots of stuff that can be added to promos that saves time. In this game people would welcome things like colored crystals or potions for example. The bigger spenders will also love to get more vanilla hero crystals. There really are plenty of options to make attractive promos that include only content that saves people time.

That doesn't mean that the devs can't add other items mind you. However, if they do want to add those "free" rolls or generals then those rolls and generals should -also- be available to obtain through "regular" game play instead of only being available for sale. Heck... it can even be a lengthy process. Kill 50 monsters to obtain Aki or buy the promo. Which in turn would make the purchase a time saver.

Something similar to that can be done for SP btw. Any time a promo has past the SP in the promo could be added to some form of farming content only for those who did not buy that promo. That makes them available to non spenders and again turns the purchase into a time saver.

( TLDR; ) Long story short, I don't despise items in promos, I don't believe that people (like myself btw) who spend on the game should not get any kind of advantage, I just believe that any advantage that we do get should at the core be nothing but a time saver and not an advantage that can not otherwise be obtained.

(btw, Zynga has -always- been in it for the money. Comparing other companies to them I think is unfair to those other companies. Plus, Zynga has gotten at least some of the bad things that they had coming to them over the years. Something to keep in mind that -if- the devs, new or old, had felt the same way as Zynga then this game would have been gone years ago.)

Edit: I just noticed that you also mentioned demi blessings. I don't want to say much about it as it really is a different discussion but I briefly want to touch on that anyway. Demi blessings were intended as a rewarding players for playing daily. As long as that mechanic remains intact then it doesn't matter whether the actual reward is skill points. Meaning, as far as I'm concerned the devs should set an SP limit of X for the demi's where X is the total number of SP that was available since the day the demi's started. Each player should just be given the difference between X and what they got (likely not possible sadly). New accounts could maybe unlock those in phases every so and so level. Then the rewards for the demis should be changed to include the following, FP, "free" rolls, colored crystals, hero crystals. The old devs originally promised the FP and rolls, adding the crystals makes it a nice set that compliments the possible boosts from the daily spin. Finally, the reward trees for the demis should -also- be expanded with new rewards to make demi points worth something again.
