The People's Game

Start by not giving out limited time items in the promos that cause unfair advantage. That includes scratching SP, free chest rolls, and other such items that can -not- be obtained in any other way but through those promos.

Agreed - everything of actual value to a player should be stripped from the Promo Packs - people who spend money should never be given advantages over people who don't! When you buy a Promo Pack, you should _lose_ SP, items you collected from chests, etc., not gain anything! No bonuses or advantages for spenders - they should be flogged through the streets for their arrogance in attempting to gain advantages over non-spending players!

Next, end demi blessing SP. That system is responsible for the biggest gap between players. Just cap it at however many points were possible to earn between the day of the first demi blessing and the day when they stop. That would allow everyone a set X amount of SP from them. To allow players to catch up quicker the number of points gained from them daily could be multiplied by the number of years demis gave SP so that catching up from them becomes easier.

Furthermore... new accounts have the ability to buy SP. Scratch that and add some place where the total amount of past promo SP can somehow be earned in game. This would be available to all, not just new accounts. That would give people the ability to actually obtain all of the SP that they didn't get through the promos. Mind you, there is nothing wrong with requiring some effort to obtain them there.

Totally agree! There should be no benefits whatsoever for people who stick with a game over a long period of time! Loyalty should not be rewarded! The characters of people who start today should be _Exactly_ the same as people who've been playing since the beginning! Levels, Stats, Equipment, Generals - they all need to go, or be exactly the same for everyone!

The least that they could do to keep long-time players from gaining any long-term advantages would be to do a complete reset on everyone's stats, levels, equipment, etc. once a year back down to _nothing_. That's right, start over from scratch, you long time loser players!

Buying FP has always been a gateway to -speed boosts-. The promos also made buying FP about adding advantages that can't be overcome through regular game play. That needs to end.

Yesssssss! People who foolishly spend money on an internet computer game should get _nothing_ for it! Nothing whatsoever! Once the devs get someone's credit card number, they should drain their bank account, to punish them for their insolence in attempting to get special treatment by spending money on the game!

Nice try. I've been spending for several years, before the promos even came out. Since they did come out I bought each pack with the highest FP pack available for me at the time.

How sad is it that you can't actually care about balance for all in the game without being accused of one thing or another. >_>

Seriously... if you had paid attention to my postings then you would know that I -never- argue for things that just give -me- an advantage in this game.

Yes! Everyone should be treated exactly the same way, in Castle Age as in life! No one should ever have an advantage over anyone else, no matter how long and hard they work for it, or how much they're willing to pay for it!

The developers must be overthrown, and the players put in charge of the game, so that all will be equal! It is the only way!

If I am getting all the same goodies how hard would it be to slap a "2" next to the promos name so those who have bought it will know they can safely buy it again now that we have up to 5 starred generals (I forget how many generals bought that equals... 36?) so that when it rolls around again it could have a "3" next to the name.

Just do what I did. Buy smaller packs, buy both promos by spending less, get double the goodies at -maybe- a few FP less (depending on the packs offered).

I'm actually saving money now. :P

Even though it has the same name, it's considered a new promo. So if you bought the previous one you'll still get all the goodies from this one as long as you buy it in the time allotted.

Not really.

According to Elandal's spreadsheet (which I assume is still accurate), the max possible SP from demis (from day one of demi, never missed a prayer) is 2910 (as of today). That is only the equivalent of 582 levels, between someone who never missed a prayer from day one (probably no player like that actually exists), and someone who is starting today and has zero demi-blessing themselves.

And that total also pales in light of the other sources of 'stat' we have now. I have more than that amount just in IA, in just attack IA or defense IA by themselves. Combined IA (atk and def), significantly more than that.
And a lot of that comes from chests, so is available to a player early on - if they have the luck, and the FP to spend.

I also have nearly that much in combined atk/def runes.

I have more than that in combined Chaos-gem boosts (% boosts to base atk/def) now as well.

Pierce and resist is IMO the biggest gap between players now, well eclipsing both raw and effective stat. Even aside from the slot/amount imbalances - catch someone in the wrong loadout, and you can wipe the floor with them even if they otherwise significantly out-stat you. Demis these days are nothing, same atk/def runes are also nothing, by comparison to the effects of pierce and resist.

I do however agree that if promos are going to be this frequent - the SP really does need to go. I don't know that it'll ever approach the imbalance level that P/R currently gives, but still - it's a bit much, when happening this often. I'm all for the higher frequency of promos, but I think the FP-bonus, crystals/potions and such is enough of a draw. Many would find addition of colored crystals even more of a draw, especially when it's in a Campaign they're doing.
