  • With the new Chest, I thought of something...

How come older chests aren't cheaper? Like Alpha? I mean at this point why would someone spend 20 FP per roll to get Generals and Items that are fairly limited in usefulness. Even new players (I would assume) would be better served by the newer chests.

Obviously I don't have any stats in front of me on who's buying what. But I would think that the really old Chests aren't getting that many hits now. That might change if the FP cost was cheaper.

I've been playing since before the Chests were even introduced. So is there a level cap on what chest you can buy from? That might be the only thing I could see keeping people buying older chests. But even they have to know that there's much better loot out there to be had for virtually the same FP.

All chests are level locked. I have heard in office suggestions about adjusting older chest values, just have to give it time to calm down with all the recent pushes that are going out product wise. This is in no way an endorsement of the idea or anything official, just commenting that it could be an option.

It seems each time the Devs retroactively changes something, hordes of forum royalties come out of the woodwork to announce their intentions to quit and rant about how CA is dead and such. Maybe the Devs are just trying to avoid unnecessary headaches.

        Interesting.

I mean it makes sense. You have people who want to get all the Generals or all the items. But have limited funds for FP. So why spend 20 FP to get a General you won't use? Instead spend 30 FP and chance getting something much better.

That's my line of logic anyways .

That's an excellent point. I hadn't thought of that.

"Hey I spent all this FP on blah blah blah who's going to reimburse me!"

I've spent FP on almost all the Chests. If they go on sale I don't expect anyone to pay me back. It's already money spent and gone lol.

ive spent 160 FPs on chest, and got 5 generals for my efforts. id be more likely to roll older chests if they were cheaper yes, but only if that chest had generals that could help me in some way (ie war council, their ability, etc).

as of now, the FPs i got are on reserve for monthlies like Aesir, Vanir, and Frost - and monsters. but i havent yet decided on whether i will get involved in all this piercing/resistance malarkey. so we shall see where my FPs go

Lol I'm just weird. It's like Pokemon to me I wanna catch them all. Sadly my finances don't let me like some of my friends.

So really it's just me being selfish and wanting all the Generals for less >.> lol

stats wise and abilities wise, a lot of the chest heroes from old are pretty worthless nowadays.

lotus' 4% crit isnt anything special for instance. the generals that werent that great when they came out are even worse now

chests are like everything else...supply and demand. the way to up demand on items is to lower the price. better get the cash for a lower price item than no cash at all

Abilities wise, alpha chest has better heroes than vanguard and onslaught (meph and OK are still useful)

                    Sig thanks to Kill.Them.All

Exactly, I was actually kind of surprised to see they haven't gone down at all.

Was it always at 20/55? or was it 30/60 like the rest when it came out?

I would like to see the older chests get a slight discount, for sure. I know some people wouldn't like it at all, though. Especially if it's because they've used a lot of FPs on those chests themselves. I would like to point out, though, that those players have gotten a lot of use out of the things they've purchased during all this time, whereas players purchasing at a discount would only now start getting that use and that use is probably less now than it was back then when some players originally rolled the chests.

I spent so much money on Vanguard and Annihilator chests and didn't get 1 epic. I've spent exactly 60FP on chests since the release of Annihilator, and will not ever spend money on a chest again. well... unless they dramatically dropped the costs of the first 4 sets since they are all worthless now in 95% of the game.

I have to agree that discounting them is a great idea. However, maybe "for a limited time" discounted chests? That way they could drum up some interest in the older ones again for people who do want them all. I only need Mephy, Stone Guardian, Crom, Templar Knight and Demon Blade. I REALLY want Crom too. He looks awesome.

I stopped buying chests when they had all that Guild stuff in there. I'm not fond of the Guild structuring so I'm passing on it. FINALLY we have Phoenix chest where you can get items you can use!
