Note: This is a humor thread about Castle Age build types, not about actual politics. Please respect it as such.
It occurred to me a little while ago that PvPers are, in paradigm of American politics, Republicans and Monster Hunters/Power Levelers are Democrats. Hear me out.
PvP enthusiasts embrace the 'rugged, self made, individualism' which typifies Republican rhetoric while Slayers are much more 'Kum-bai-ya, let's all work together as a team' Democrats. PvPers are so notoriously stingy about sinking their meagre energy into defense bar monsters, or even using stamina to answer CTAs, that you'd think someone was trying to raise their taxes, Democrat Monster Hunters think everyone should give until it hurts.
PvP combines the dog-eat-dog nature of Wall Street capitalism and combines it with the 'they'll get my Sword of Redemption when they pry it from my cold dead fingers' attitude of the Second Amendment/NRA crowd (i suppose in CA it would be the NSA but those initials are already taken). PvPers/Republicans think any investment in Health is a sign of weakness.
Monster Hunters OTOH get together and form charities in the guise of 'rescue groups' and even go so far to subsidize various social program/monster hunts by purchasing FP refills, and then complain when they can't buy more over the already absurdly huge cap on energy & stamina. Talk about your deficit spending. PvPers believe in pre-emptive War, Monster Hunters only go to War when it's already a popular idea/fait accompli (like during Arena seasons). Both parties swear that they pray to a higher power every single day but you know that isn't true.
Monster Hunters are impressed by large numbers, PvPers by results.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I am the Dick Cheney of Castle Age.
