Now gaining the demis for completing their quests may not be realistic (and I don't think that's a good idea either), but neither is basing that on your reply of when you had them completed. A player that is just starting now has far more to do with their energy than just completing quests. A monster hunter or pvp build that only put 120 into energy, and has to use that on blue bars would take a fair amount of time to finish all quests to 4, thus not making that demi such an "easy" reward after all.

actually, the way this usually goes is that if someone thinks its a good idea, the thread grows by about 2-3 pages a day with people commenting on how great it would be if tweaked this way or that way.. and since there were already two or three shooting it down, the rest ignored the temptation to blast it further. So by lack of positive support, negative feelings or indifference can safely be assumed

and yes basing my reply on me having them all done was very valid..for two very good reasons..#1 he directly asked me how many I had done and #2 it proved a willingness, by a very average player at best, to want to finish all the paths WITHOUT the incentive of generals, thereby completely debunking the notion that a General at the end would be necessary to enhance the need for completing the Demi paths

in the end, it still boils down to either laziness, greed, or both
It can't rain all the time

I think having a general or two as an achievement reward would be cool. There are a few generals you can get through random game stuff (Keira, Chase, Leon Ironhart, etc.), which is cool. It would be great if they continued this once in awhile.

Saying you can assume your side is right based on a lack of response is completely ridiculous. I could just as easily make the argument that when someone posts a bad idea the thread usually gets bombarded with people telling them how stupid they are, how they should go play another game, etc... Even the people that replied that they had finished demis didn't say anything negative about the idea itself. So by your logic, the lack of that happening would indicate that there is a lack of negativity to this idea.

And my point was not that your answering his question was wrong, but that the circumstances to achieve that end are completely different. Take someone that has been playing for awhile. Where did their energy go before two bar monsters appeared? Strictly into quests. Now players have multiple options for where to spend their energy. Not once did I, or the OP say it was necessary to put a demi general as incentive for someone to complete them. I've already said I didn't think that was a good idea, and he merely asked if something like that was done, would you change the way you play?

Case in point; If it weren't for something as simple as ranks, which grant no rewards, I wouldn't have touched PVP. I could care less about it. I understand why people find it fun, but it's not necessary for me to enjoy the game. But I kind of liked the idea of the ranks, and battle points (as opposed to say MW, where there's no reason to PVP at all). If it weren't for Chase I wouldn't have bothered with Raids, and if it weren't for Medius I wouldn't bother with the elementals past getting the one or two items for dueling. But now, unless I have a general to level up, my energy goes to the blue bar of those monsters instead of quests. So each one of those incentives changed the way I needed to allocate skill points and spend my time in the game.

I enjoy collecting the generals. And while I don't mind spending some occasional money to support what I feel is far and away the best game of it's type, I will never put down money on a constant basis just for the chance to get one. I'll earn my fp's in game, and use them on sure things. I've gotten all the non fp generals except for Medius and Serene. And you can be sure that if another one is offered as a reward for a monster, quest, whatever, I'll alter my playstyle to go after that.

I don't even get why you think it would make the game easier. First of all, it's been proven that player stats affect outcomes more than the stats of a general. So by your reasoning, your completing all the demi quests for the skill points was done for greed and/or laziness, since they are pretty "easy" and give more of a benefit in skill points. Second, there's nothing easier than getting a new general. Want a general? Plop down some money, purchase general with favor points. Doesn't get much easier than that. Third, there's nothing "hard" about this game. There will never be anything "hard" about this game. You point and click a mouse. The only measuring stick is how much time it takes you to reach a goal, be that bsi, a piece of equipment, a rank, whatever. And if there's one thing this game does not lack, it's content, and the creation of new content. Reach a goal? Pick a new one. There's plenty to do. Offering another incentive or two is hardly going to change that.

Aint ever happening for the simple fact of money. CC nutters or just those like me willing to support the game every now might roll for an epic here and there. This is money in the devs pocket. Mans gotta eat. Perfectly fine by me.

Now think about it logically. How would you feel if you spent a pretty penny or lots of time farming fp to gain an epic when oof you can get one just by completing an achievement.

Actually theres a perfectly good incentive already to get the epics

1 - open wallet and pray for luck
2 - farm fp for a while. get xp & Loot in process. use fp collected roll chest pray

choice your poison. One costs real cash the other takes a whopping long time but on the flip side you get shed loads of xp in the process.

            sounds reasonable to me

I like the general idea of more generals through alchemy though but not ones that are epics or as good as epics though.

And I think that's part of the point the op is trying to make trying to make. Asking if more things like that would make you change how you play. It's just that the one suggestion got blown up to make it seem like the whole point of his post by the people that didn't agree with it.

Well, I "got it", too, but then again I paid attention to what he was actually saying.

Pretty much it. There's a small group of 3-4 people it seems that troll the forums, ready to derail every suggestion they dislike.

I am all about generals. Free or favor points. They are pokemon to me. Gotta catch them all... Even if they have no abilities and are 1 attack, 1 defense, I would be excited to get that.

I will follow the generals wherever they may be. If I have to be a PvP to get a general, I will work on that. If I have to rock at "War" I will work on that. If I have to kill a ton of Azriel's and Alpha's I will do that. If I have to become a chainer to get one, I will. I even begged a friend to play for the sole purpose of getting Darius.

Now if only Serene would fall on my lap and Memnon would magically reappear somewhere in this game.
