None of the previous owners understood their follies either. But with the offensively terrible wording of Nymph (Hero, not Pet)'s ability, I don't even want her.

Directing players to recent features has punished those of us already embracing those features since Arena 2. My spending on Conquest Token refills happened LONG before Paths came into play. And yet we still embrace these new features, and inevitably get screwed somehow. Because we know it will be a big deal. Some of us have to be the first, so that others can follow. Can you imagine an event like this with nobody on the forum knowing wtf to even do?

Nah. We knows ebryting. Everything is as it should be.

Except the wording of Nymph"s ability. I mean srsly wtf?!
Have you seen that trife? Devs need to hire someone that speaks English fluently for this stuff.

Hero skills take effect when not be equipment.

That's what it says. I'ma not be equipment these Devs right upside they heads. DONT MAKE ME SHOW DoR THIS MESS.

Telling of luck - I zeroed my crystal stockpile just two or three days before the event started.
Would like to see a Cancel button for mining, since it happens far too often to miss readjusting the time.

I really don't see a Cancel button happening. With this, or any other feature.

i also don't see how anyone could possibly mess up when mining. The drop down menus are located well above the start button, and even the box that tells you how much Stamina/Energy/Sprites you'll need is still well above the button to start mining.

Maybe just don't click the button? Somehow I haven't had an issie since this feature started.

From what I can figure, unless someone still has crystals saved up to use, the only changes in the top group of people will be based on the luck of the mining results. If all of the top ranking people use fp to get the maximum amount of mining sprites, then the points they get from mining should be the same. The difference will be when some people get large crystals or not from the mining results.

Personally, I was only sort of interested in the Nymph, because I had not heard of it previously, but then when someone showed me a picture of the general and it's abilities, I got more interested. It also makes me think people already have the general in game already because someone said it was accidentally released for a few hours with different abilities, and that really does sound like the game we all know and love.

As far as I know, Nymph has not been afvailable to actual players yet. Granted, Dev beta-tester accounts absolutely have to have new stuff first, in order to test it, but pics of Nymph and her ability have been available on Discord.

But Shaw has a point about the event itself. We can all start at nothing, totally unprepared, and only the RNG would be the deciding factor. Or we could be fully ready, at max capacity, and STILL, only RNG would decide. There is no way to come from behind. There is no way to buy a rank up on the last day(s). There isn't even any way to slug it out and be active enough in the last hours to finish a hair above that desired cutoff.

With other events, I can be extremely active in the last hours, or even throw more money at the event, and change the final outcome. With this event, spending has to be consistent, daily. I don't know how much a single time buying Mining Sprites would go. Without spending anything, I'm currently at rank 3987, with 2098 total points. With just one day remaining.

More to this point, the RNG effect can be huge. Myself and my mini have done the EXACT same things regarding excavations and everything, and my mini is currently 209 points behind me. This may not sound like a huge amount, but at this current stage of the game, it is the difference in me getting a Nymph, and they won't. I'm not expecting either of us to get a Nymph, but that's not the point. The point is that the RNG being the factor, with all else being equal, can make a enormous difference. Which basically makes this event into a literal gambling contest. Birds and bushes and guys named after large quantities of food aside, many of us don't like to throw away resources or actual money when no real skill or strategy is involved or even can be involved.

I enjoy all the free stuff the event has given. But I don't think I'll be spending FPs on it if it comes back around, unless it suits me. I won't chase the top prize, but I may throw a few bucks in if one of the points prizes is worthwhile and within reach.

nymph's ability looks like it also gives extra autocollects as well as a %boost for Large Crystals. Extra autocollects is equal to extra hours in the day. This may be reason enough to actually chase into the top 150, if you have that potential. In this, or any future Fairy Forest event.

Perhaps you are math challenged or scared to use logic.

Elemental has no risk but is inefficient because it does not award leaderboard points.

Medium crystals are at 50% max probability of success.

Large crystals are at 40% max probability of success.

Using logic or the power of inference, the player that maxed out their Elf Mine to level 10 has an edge in this stupid Event. Additionally those that stockpiled Mining Sprites had an edge as well.

There is a strategy involved, if you are NOT going to land in the top 150 or whatever your goal, choose Elemental crystals so you can level up your pets. This is bird in hand.

As for chasing the top 150, you have to spend FP. So you have to decide based on your delta or amount of daily leaderboard points if it makes sense to purse spending FP.

Separately, it’s not a gambling contest when you know extreme LSI got insane amount of TI chests so you can estimate the amount of 3 x Medium Crystals (eg 4 points per Medium Crystal).

                    Summary:
1/ The most important information, eg mine levels of your Main vs Mini (or mining sprites, crystals stockpiled, etc) may help explain the 209 point differential.

2/ JefferMC never figured out how the trial is used to discern the probability of success, eg JefferMC made manure up as usual.

For the Medium Crystal results, I only got: 0, 2, or 4 medium crystals. I never got an odd number like 1 or 3 medium crystals which implies the Dev perform the probability test “each hour” and if successful, you get both crystals otherwise you got zero.

I conceded trying to the Top 150 already as it was impossible to gain ground. I hoped some people would bottleneck into needing Elemental giving a slight advantage but it never seemed to come. Already just farming Elemental now and getting Pets prepped for next time. These alts, unless they missed this Event, should never win again since people are being forced to hold until the next Event. Spenders are going to hold Crystals as your pets being fully leveled isn't make or break outside of the Event. Still, it is a bad look if this is how the Pet system is utilized that people get them and can only level them 2-4x a year given the release is consistent or happens anytime soon. I'll hoard and spend them when they near 1,000 since they cap out at that point and see how it goes next time as 1 copy is more than sufficient.

I suspect this next event, more than several people will have tried to get upgrade crystals and sprites to maximum levels in preparation. This is absolutely going to make it into an event of the RNG gamble, especially with the large upgrade crystals being such a bigger boost than the others. Because those people will be at an upper limit that is finite. I'm not all that impressed with the Nymph personally, and only spent because it was a good way to level my pets very quickly, which might be my motivation again. And boredom.

I am probably going to start mining elemental stuff as well, and saving up Sprites. I may even have to buy a few now and then.

Mine level makes a huge difference in this event. You can't even get large crystals until Mine level 7. But I think we can expect most serious players to be Mine level 10 by the time the next event comes around, assuming a 3month cycle, at least.

My Mine just hit Level 7. And I'm currently Rank:4218, ending at 2438 points. I'll likely do better next time, but sometimes life happens. I'm quite happy with the free stuff this event has provided, especially being able to promote Flame Raven. And let's not forget the 5 extra free Mining Sprites each day, and 2 extra autocollects. I've been able to get at least double my normal Pet XP.

So all in all, I like this event. I'll do better next time.

I also just noticed there apparently was some sort of bug sometime in the point tallies of the upgrade crystals, because I'm sitting at 2275 from use of upgrade crystals. Considering I started off the event 100% crystal-less, and had used every crystal I had mined up to that point, I have no idea how that is possible. You shouldn't be able to end in an odd number in that case. It's refreshing to be able to rely on the Devs to still at least minorly screw something up during any given Event. I can't think of any possible way I had a lone small one laying around to push the total to an odd number.

Using a small crystal gives 1 point on the leaderboard.

Source: “Consuming small upgrade crystals: earn 1 point for every small upgrade crystal consumed“

This was I why asked earlier (despite your claim your main & mini did the EXACT same thing during the stupid Event) did your main & mini started with the EXACT same starting conditions: mine level, number of crystals, mining sprites, etc.

The term is ceteris parabus or all other things remaining the same. When you wrote you had a 209 (an odd number) point differential, logic dictates the small crystals had to play a role. The inference is you had to have small crystals stockpiled in one or both toons.
