  • Meteorite Event tracking

Is there a tracker for the 2022 January Meteorite event? Anyone has a rough guess where the 1000th rank is expected to be at? Might be different from the previous events, since players might be buffed up from the loot in the previous event.

I certainly had more stamina pots sitting around at the start of this meteorite, and set my target higher accordingly.

1/ Historical Meteorites followed an established Power Law distribution.

      Please see Wiki: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_law

The Meteorite Event for 2022 no longer follows this established distribution and unfortunately the distribution became steeper if you look at the top projected 25 winners.

2/ Historically, 140 to 150 GM would place you in the top 1,000.

3/ We have a new phenomenon of DH Fear & Felix wiping out a disproportionate amount of public mobs meaning less public mobs for the rest of us. I have no problem if DH Fear and Felix did most of their damages on PRIVATE mobs.

4/ We have ongoing Layla & MK creep. We have Storm Dragon, which wasn’t a factor in previous Meteorite Events. We have 2,500 stamina pots (with SD effect). Lastly, we have huge stockpiles of full Energy & Stamina pots as well as 500 Stamina pots from the Winter Event.

I stopped at 80 GM and am writing a letter to DECA to fix Meteorite. Again, I am for an Egalitarian approach and against the current Elitist approach. Public mobs are for everyone, not for a small minority of players because they have the ability can hit for 50 billion dmg in a day.

5/ If I hazard a guess for the top 1,000, I would say 170 GM would be the bubble.

I need to explain SD effect with the 2,500 stamina pots.

My 2* lvl 74 SD gives a 80% buff on energy or stamina pots (limit 2 pots per day).

80% of 2,500 stamina = 2,000 stamina. So if I had at least 4,500 stamina with 0 stamina at the time of using the 2,500 stamina pot along with SD, that would be 4,500 stamina to put to work.

You are expected to get 6 ingredients per 1,000 base stamina (my 7* lvl 80 MK is expected to convert that 1,000 base stamina into 1,175 expected stamina). 2,000 extra base stamina is at least 12 expected ingredient. That is a min of 4 extra GM in expectations.

Close to 170 was probably how it went. I had a rank of 850 with just over 180 GMs.

Prizes have already been given out.

If people understood basic statistics and applied the Power Law distribution, you can estimate the bubble: the Ratio of the 1000th place to the 25th place has a nice relationship.

I stopped hitting 3 days ago when the Public mobs were a mess.

I ended up 91 GMs. I could have easily finished with 180 GMs but it wasn’t worth the stress.

Forgot to mention that I didn’t spend any FPs to get the 91 GMs due to huge stockpile of full energy & stamina pots from Winter Event. SD giving me 1,800 free energy per full energy pot (twice a day) was a big boost. 3,600 free energy a day is a lot of free energy.

I probably could have gotten all 180 GM without spending any FPs.

All my toons ended a rank or so lower than they would have with the same effort a year or two ago. I think the inflationary pressure is coming from the top more than the bottom, as the "wealth gap" widens. Much like the real economy, except in the real economy people blame those with the least for inflation. :-)

Someone on Discord mentioned 171 GM = rank 995

Nope. It’s what the OP stated about the huge stockpile of full energy & stamina pots and the additional 500 stamina pots from the Winter Event.

This massive stockpile should have been common knowledge and many had anticipated a huge jump in GMs needed for this Meteorite.

Do you really think the lower levels stockpiled enough potions to affect outcomes at the higher levels? Seems unlikely to me.

Sounds like the guy who was chauffeured to the 5-star restaurant, complaining that the yacht he wants to buy is so expensive because the waiter earned just enough to pay his rent & power bill.

Most players got 2 500-stam potions. Two.

There is the saying: The rising tide lifts all boats.

What you are comparing is yourself controlling multiple toons vs those with 1 toon at the similar levels, respectively. The players with one toon probably got more stockpiles for each toon from the Winter Event than each of your toon. So it makes sense you with multiple toons would see your toons at lower levels, respectively.

Summary: In your case, due to time commitment, your toons were able to participate in the rising stockpiles from the Winter Event as well as those with 1 toon.

Well, no use debating. I'm curious about the percentage moves for number of gold meteorites needed, comparing by level to previous events. That will tell us where the supply glut had an effect.

I wanted to get to 80 GM to get the bonus red/green crystals, so I spent the large stockpile of pots that I had on hand to get there. I did so pretty early and was ranked around 550. I lost that lofty rank in a couple of days and couldn't keep my head above 1,000 and quit trying with 2 or 3 days left. I finished 1348st with 113 GM. Had i known I could finish in the top 1000 by reaching 171 GM, I might have kept going.

People on Discord were asking for feedback on Top 1000. I’m no longer active on Discord because of elitists and cliques.

Had you posted an inquiry on this forum in the first few days of Meteorite, I would have shared with you my thoughts to help you decide to chase the top 1000 or not.

I decided not to chase the top 1000 because of the stress of finding public mobs to hit so I can complain to DECA to fix the Event.
