We pretty much knew what to expect from the first day of the event though.
3 of those events and you'll be able to craft boots better than the current best boots in the game and an off-hand just behind the current best Off-hand (Vargulis legendary). I'd say those are pretty insane items for the tiny amount of monsters you need to kill to get them. Especially since even most PvP players can get them without trying too hard since if you don't have much stamina your Chimera doesn't have much HP.

They will definitely run more of these events. They made Legendary Alchemies which require at least 48 Chimeras or 144 for all 3 items.
They didn't take the time to make them just so no one could ever get them. At least that's what I think.

My only complaint is that the monster does not drop essences or daily bonus. My FB account is worth the one refill as that is what I care about for boosting PvP stats. My high LSI F2P iOS account is not going to use so many thousands of stamina points to not get drops. It has plenty of full refill potions, but the lack of drops means I will keep saving them for events.

That's my main complaint as well. Especially since some players' Chimeras have so much more HP, it makes it (even more) unfair.
I've asked GuoBiao to change this, but honestly I doubt it will be changed 😢

        Other complaints are:
        • MK apparently not working
        • The lack of a 20 stam button (how hard is it to add? There's even more room since there's no heal buttons)
        • The Arena bonus not working

But the Essence not dropping is a really important issue IMO.

Would have been nice if the monster stuck around long enough to be able to make any of the new items

how much damage do you guys make?
1 stam hit, no multiplier, no crit.
I have just made a few experiments and I am... confused.

Dolomar 1 stam hit gets 13k, Maalvus x3 1 stam hit gets 43k
so Maalvus gets me extra damage per 1 stam used. granted, my Maalvus is higher level than Dolomar. see pic

then I got from 43xxx to 45xxx damage by changing my usual Monster load from best pierce to best attack equipment.

then I got to 473xx by changing Maalvus alliance from Dolomar, Barbarus (in this order) to Guineveer, Barbarus. the order is imp.
the alliance stance is 71, as both Guini and Barb are red

I have tried several combos with all the monster-hunting generals I have - I even tried adding Katherine (as she also has very high stats). the Kat combo gave about the same damage as Dolomar + Barbarus.

I'm level 1103, wth 600 stam. my chimera required stamina to kill:

                2115 - FIRE
                1790, 1734 - LIGHTENING
                1966 - EARTH

generally, I need 2 refills per monster. I get 648 stam per refil, with Kilgore. plus the stam I naturally have in the morning, plus a reminder to enter the game at evening and kill it, hoping the stam I have by then will be enough. yesterday, I needed a few extra potions too. what am I doing wrong here - you guys say you can kill it with what you have, no potions?

1 stam hit, best attack loadout (so lowest pierce)
                VANCY 13,892
                DOLOMAR 14,302
                BARBARUS 43,545
                MAALVUS 47,565

I think the Chimera works normally as far as damage is concerned: what matters the most is your general alliance stats (and equipment stats) and in particular the atk stat.
So going for your highest attack equipment is best (unless you use Elite Dragonslayer gear for extra crit chance which may be better), and highest alliance stats, while ofc taking abilities into account: crit chance, barb's +% dmg, etc.

Btw, always start with a 1 stam (or 3 stam) hit with Barb in the alliance. His ability charges fully in 1 hit against the Chimera.

Last thing to consider, I believe the Chimera has a breakpoint of 0, so using Vancy will probably add very little damage especially if your player atk is high already. You should focus on higher stats generals.

Looking at the generals you have, Maalvus-Guin-Barb is your best choice. If Barb and Dolo were promoted more it could be Dolo-Barb-Maalvus maybe, although I'm not sure as Maalvus probably still has quite a lot more stats.

Bottom line is, as for all monsters your general alliance is a huge deal, and yours is not good (which is understandable seeing how little stam you have - however in the long run promoting barb and Dolo to 5 stars may be a good investment as it will reduce the amount of refills you'll need).

Looking at your level and stam, your Chimera probably has around 45m HP. Mine has 107m and on avg I needed 1787 stam to kill it during this event. I was a bit bad lucky with crits this time, last time I needed 1519 stam on avg. That's thx to my hunting alliance and my crit equipment/gems (~65% crit chance). I could use less stam by replacing MK with Moonlight Dragon but I want the free XP from MK refunds.

On a non-crit hit, 33,666 dmg/stam (5,050,000 dmg from a 150 stam hit). A bit more than double what you deal with your Maalvus alliance.
But with a 65% crit chance my dmg/stam increases a lot.

and you hit with ...? Barb in alliance with Dolomar and...?

                        -------------------

I noted that your Barb and Dolomar are level 69 and 5 stars. I'm putting them on the list. But who else are they allied with? and who's the main hitter?
I'll decide if I switch to Dolomar when he gets at the same level as Maalvus. Though I like the x3 bit (less health damage too, more damage to the monster, and less time spent)

PS I get a lot of crits as well with Maalvus.
I have tested the crit inceasing equipment in "normal" monsters, both with Maalvus and Dolomar. I have them all. they didn't seem to make too much of a difference in no of crits, yet the amount of damage was a lot less, so I'm not using that equipment anymore.

                          I have Barb 6* lvl 79, Dolo 5* lvl 79, MK 3* lvl 63.
I could get quite a lot more dmg by replacing my MK with my Moonlight Dragon 1* lvl 40 though.

But once again, I could be using other generals, what matters most is the general alliance stats. On top of that, Monster Hunting abilities are important as well. 1 crit chance general is important, then you can use Barbarus and the 3rd depends on what you have.

You should definitely read the first sections of this article: Monster Hunting Generals

I'm using Barb first for the x3 ability + his equipment also brings +1% crit chance (which only works if he's the master).
But usually you should simply put the best stats general first. Which is also why my MK with low stats is 3rd.

Maalvus crit chance is very bad. Just look in the wiki at the same level for Dolomar and Maalvus. And you get only 17% of Dolo's crit chance if you put him in the 3rd spot behind Maalvus so usually only 1 crit chance general in the alliance is better.

Crit equipment doesn't have good stats so yeah your dmg is reduced a bit. It can bring up to +14% crit chance though which is far from negligible.

But everything enhances everything. Sometimes it's hard to know whether it's better going for more crit or more dmg, for instance.
If you want to determine this for sure, you can use this spreadsheet: Enhanced Monster damage calculator (with Critical Chance & more)
