I am not going to agree or disagree. My main problem with this event was there was no significant info about it. I was one of the earliest to summon mine. I looked around for info before I did because I wanted to know how much of a beast it would be. Of course 30 minutes later everyone else started logging on and summoning theirs to. My summon wound up getting buried beneath everyone else's. So now I am one of those with the least time and maybe 20 ppl on it with only maybe 5 being truly active. As well as only a couple siege attcks launched. I have posted links everywhere and assisted probably hundreds of ppl. So I have tried; I accept mine will probably not be downed I just hope it doesn't take anything from me.

One line at the begining of every event saying this will take time and a dedicated group is not a deterrant since most ignore such things. If an event like this is released in the future some kind of info should be passed beforehand. To discourage people from summoning en mass right off. If it takes a couple of dozen people to down them in the time alotted.

Looks like life is nerfed a bit but so has siege weapon damage. I don't think attack has been increased by 30% tho. Feels more like 10-15%. As for last stand siege weapon, I think it's just another way to kill the hydra as most people's hydras seem to not need it.

This this is still ridiculously too powerful, despite the 'nerf'. I have 1700 army members and can't get enough for even the blizzard, and I only have 1 heavy hitter. 150 hours left and it's obviously I will fail. I've posted everywhere for help, but seems useless. I post a CTA every hours or so.

One thing you can do is just use a regular status update to link it. Most likely most of your friends have blocked your CA posts, maybe they have not blocked your status updates yet.

They definately need tweaked in some way!

I have a huge army and more than enough ppl but the problem lies in the character of the players. It seems that there are always going to be those who are unreliable and do very little damage and spread themselves thin in many monsters inorder to gaet as many rewards as possible with as little work as possible. Since we are not allowed to boot such people we seem to be stuck with them and thus the increase of losing the monster is great because of these types of people. For example: I was on 2 Gold dragons when the hydras were released. All but a few abandoned the Dragons. I was very nervous about losing both. We managed to drop the one but on the second one I had to use 10 of my own favor points inorder to save it AND IT WASNT MY DRAGON! Now those who did very little dmg and abandoned the rest of us are the ones who typically get the dragon helm pieces and the better gifts. This is extremely unfair and encourages these people to continue to do it. They did make a min dmg on dragons or no reward but not enough. And there needs to be a rethink on what rewards are given to what amount of dmg done. The top 3 -5 should get the helm pieces and better of gifts. Or something similar or let us drop people from our monsters!

            Just my humble opinion,

            Jamie

Wish if after so many hours or day if not enough answer the cta for a weapon you can help a second time. I have a friend i keep putting out a cta for is on 4th weapon, still has 80 hours left and only maybe 1/5 of it's life is gone. Also only has 29 people on his list. Really need help for him.

Also opening a thread for cta's. Also noticed that once you do a cta for a weapon it works for all weapons. So if people would just post one CTA for their hydra we can keep it responibly small.

As such, if it takes a full roster of active attackers more than 50% of the allotted time to get the kill, it is too difficult to be handled by a half filled roster with only half of those people actively trying to kill in the future.

Yes, the original version CAN be killed, but the chances that it WILL be killed regularly were probably deemed to be too low.
I agree. At first I was like how lame to change it after only 3 days but with this point in mind it would make sense. As it stands it is a big time commitment to those who summon and to those dedicated to helping. When the novelty dies out it will be interesting to see how it goes.

500 to summon a Last Stand is simply stupid.

I am proud to say will kill ours in the next several hours prenerfed and without a Last Stand.

Thanks for the many replies. It's nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks this way.

When Last Stand happened..omg..500 clicks! My Wall filled up and is clogged. What are they thinking? I've already had complaints and some friends who were normally quite willing to let the odd, "Please help me" type request go by has blocked Castle Age updates now and who can blame them!

In the end we managed to kill the Hydra without Last Stand.Good job too we needed 212 more clicks lol.
I did 2.4 million damage and spent the best part of 4 days totally focused on this one beast. The rewards I got are posted below...worth it? You decide. However I really don't feel like putting so much effort into another Hydra for a few days at least. Sure I'll help out summoning a weapon but so much effort...nah!

I haven't gotten into enough fights to have an educated opinion on whether the hydra has too much life or not, but I definitely think the siege weapons need some work.

I think they should change the mechanics of how they work. Forcing people to spam CTA's all over Facebook to get hundreds and hundreds of people to help them is just a bad idea all around. I would rather see the early siege weapons triggered by number of people joining the battle, and the later siege weapons triggered after so many attacks or automatically at a certain number of hours.

If they have to keep the siege weapons keyed to how many people click your help link then they really ought to at least cut down the number of people it takes to activate them by at least half. I would much rather it take 10-25% of the number of people it takes now to activate the siege weapons. Maybe that cuts into the "epic" feel of the battle a bit, but it would also make me much less tempted to block CA updates to my Facebook.
