  • Need help to the ff. questions:

Hi and Greetings...to all admin guyz and to all Castle Age gamers.

I need help to the following questions:

    1. Do I need to buy each army a complete set of gear e.g. If I have 20 Paladins, does it mean I need to purchase 20- Axe, 20-Helmet, 20-Neclace, 20-Shield and etc. items?

    2. Do I need to buy those above mentioned items to my Wisards, Cleric and Angels too?

    3. About those Vampire, Barbarian, Fire Elemental, Water Sprite and ect. How are they useful to the owner and do they need weapon to buy?

    4. And lastly what is the best build combination for Ambrosia aider?

To anyone who will be able to clear these queries of mine, will be great appreciated and thank you in advance.

    Regards,

    For questions 1-3:

For invasions, the game uses 1 unit, 1 spell, and 1 item (sword, shield, amulet, etc) for each army member you possess, up to a maximum of 501(500 army members plus yourself). You also get to use 1 general plus 1 more for every five people in your army.

It will choose units, items, etc, by picking the ones with the best combined attack and defense first, and gradually going to worse units until it hits your army max.

You don't actually equip any of the units you get. You could have 500 daggers and no units... you'd still use the daggers, but it'd be a bad idea. (Pretty certain that will work anyhow, though I have not tried that myself. Weapons are more expensive than units. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.)

For duels you use the general you have chose, plus your best weapon, armor piece, shield, helmet, amulet, and spell(think I got that right). Your units aren't used at all.

In both types of combat your attack and defense play a large roll.

For question 4: Could you please reword this? I didn't understand.

If you mean you are doing ambrosia as your daily diety, then no. Most people just do one until they have got all the items then do another, etc.

As far as for how you want to build yourself that depends on what you're after and looking around on this forum can probably find some good threads about it.

However, as a quick list of somewhat common builds:

Pvp: Focus on attack and defense(some prefer one higher than the other, depending on what they want). You will be great in battles, but not so great with dragons or quests.

Quester: Focus on energy. You get money fast and level very fast. You will, however, get massacred in battles. This build combines well with a dragon build.

Anti-dragon: Focus on stamina. You get nice, random rewards from dragon/kiera battles, and gain levels quickly. The rewards include extra demi points, favor points, items from treasure chests, land, random units and items, and a few things that are only gainable via dragons. However, you will be horrid in combat. This build combines well with quester as quests also give lots of experience, and each time you level your stamina/energy get refilled.

Multi-purpose: This one is kind of obvious. Just combine any of the builds listed above, together. Its the standard, jack of all trades scenario, where you become alright at multiple things, but will get outdone by people who focus solely or mainly on a specific build.

Another thing to factor in here, unless you are going for a high energy build. 90 energy is the most you need to do any quest in the game. A high energy build would use more, but otherwise 90 is the highest you will need.

This isn't always the case. In duels, yes, it's very likely that you'll be unable to fight your way out of a wet paper bag, or defend yourself againt someone armed with a spatula. However, if you put the effort into building a large army quickly, that weakness can be mitigated somewhat.

A large army will let you invade successfully on a fairly regular basis at low levels. Your defense and offense against duelists will still be miserable, but you'll have a decent chance against most opponents if you initiate an invasion.

The easiest way to build up a massive army at low levels is to check the facebook groups or the forum recruiting section for Castle Age "mass add lists". You can build up an army of several hundred in a few days, and if you put off leveling until your army is a decent size, you can steamroll your way up to a decent battle ranking without too much trouble.

True, though if you come up against another big army, that's pvp based they will still slaughter you... but maxed armies are pretty rare in the low levels, so it won't matter for awhile. Edited in: I'm not at the high levels yet, but I imagine later on it would become a much bigger issue, as stats do play a very large part in battles. I don't know what the high level crowd looks like at all yet.

Also you will still get beaten a lot when people attack you, as they will be dueling you mainly, if you have a big army. Of course you could always attack back, when they don't have one of their own .

You could certainly get your battle rank up this way. That does make you more of a target though as well, as people need to fight folks close to their rank to keep getting decent battle points. It would get you access to some of the battle rank only goodies though.

I've heard doing a build with a mix of stamina and attack works fairly good as well. You get beat easily when attacked, but have enough power to still be viable when attacking, and are good at dragons. Edited in: Only problem with that is that dragon hunting and pvp both use stamina.

To the original poster: Just figure out what you think will be fun for you to be doing, and build accordingly.
