Forum Rules [Updated 12/21/2016]

MAIN RULES OF THE FORUMS

Please respect your community. Respect each other as you all enjoy the same thing – The Game.

We encourage open and friendly discussion of the game and the Community. Moderators and Staff have final decisions on all matters, and are here to make sure that the Community remains a friendly, fun place appropriate for players of all backgrounds, ages and groups.

It is the forum member's responsibility to stay up to date on forum rules and to honor the behavior outlined.

PURPOSE OF THE FORUMS

These forums provide an area for constructive player discussions of the game. It also allows players to
help each other identify bugs and issues, and help each other reproduce and resolve them.

These forums are not the most direct way to contact support. If you’re having an issue with your game and you need direct assistance, please tap on the FAQ/Support tab within the game.

CHANGES OR IMPROVEMENT

Please make sure to stay updated on these rules by reviewing this page from time to time.

SET RULES

Rule 3: Respect the forum purpose and structure
- Make your posts in the appropriate forum.
- Please use the Search function. If a relevant thread already exists, please post there instead of creating a new thread about the same topic. Duplicate threads will be closed to keep the forums orderly and easy to navigate.

- Do not post Facebook information about other forum users.
- Do not post any private information about other users.
- Do not post in-game information in an attempt to have other players attack your target. Be careful to not cross the line into bullying.

Rule 7: Do not spam

- Do not spam users on the forums or through private messages.
- Do not start a thread without actual purpose.
- Do not start a thread about a news story or article unless you make it clear what the story is about, and offer your own opinion to start a discussion.

Rule 8: Respect your account
- Do not share your account information with other individuals. You will be held responsible for any rules violations that occur under your account.
- Do not create new accounts or use other tricks to avoid suspensions or bans.
- Do not create ‘sock puppet’ accounts – multiple accounts created just so that you can agree with yourself and make it seem like your ideas have more support than they do.
- Never include your e-mail address or any other personal information in posts.

Rule 9: Respect the Moderators
- Do not post using the color red. This color is reserved for moderators.
- Do not impersonate moderators. Do not claim to speak for the moderators.

- Do not argue with moderators about moderator decisions. You can disagree with a moderator’s opinions, just like any other poster, but when they post moderator actions in red text, it is considered final.
- Moderators have no access to your game account. If you have an issue you must contact customer service.

Generally, BE NICE. There is nothing wrong with being nice to each other.

  • ==> The Castle Age Legends Group

Please find important updates to this message at the end of this thread. Effective today (8/12/2010) I am no longer in charge of new admissions to the CA Legends group.

Please take notice of updated information - all updates to this post can be found at the bottom.

Useful information for everyone who wants to become a member of the CA Legends group or who wants to know more about us. It's a lot of information and a long post, but it is also structured so it should be easy to find what you are looking for.

    New Requirements:

As a consequence of the continuing development of the game we have adapted our entrance requirements to standards that meet the present state of the game more than our old requirements. The new requirements are:
    • Minimum level 200
    • Battle rank 16 (Baron) or higher
    • NET Battle record of 10,000 wins. To get the NET battle won, subtract your lost battles from your won battles.
    • You have to be in possession of all artifacts. This means you have opened up all quest areas/territories including Atlantis. The demi-quests are of no concern.
    • Total playing time of at least 4 months.

Beyond this we would like you to submit a reason with your application, why you want to join the Legends group. We don't expect anything specific, we'd just like to know a little more about who wants to join us and why.

If you have references or recommendations from Legends members or other respected long-term players we'd ask you to submit them with the application. They will generally expedite the process.

    Exceptions from Requirements:

    This is new:
While the general requirements have been raised, they are also - within certain limits and with good reasons given - negotiable. For example, if you are a strictly PvP-oriented player and consequently slow leveling, you may request admission to the group even though you do not meet all requirements. But if you request this you should give good reasons along with at least one active Legends member as reference, and after you have been admitted it is expected that you complete the remaining requirements in a reasonable amount of time.

    How To Apply

The Facebook Castle Age Legends group has been made a "Secret Group", so direct application is not possible anymore. If your application is approved you will be invited to join. The reason for this is simply that we have been receiving an ever-increasing amount of applications, many of them "non-sensical" as they came from low-level very inexperienced players. For these players other groups are initially much more suitable (and they can still join Legends down the road) but nonetheless all these applications cost a lot of administrative time.

Instead of directly joining the Facebook group you will be applying by sending an email with all required information (see below) to this email address:

email will be back up shortly, as for right now send application per PM to me

Information to Include in the Email

You can use the following as template for your email:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Your (real) Name:

    Your CA Keep Link:

    Your Level and Battle Rank:

    Battles Won:
    Battles Lost:

Artifacts in Possession: (e.g. check off from the list: Fire, Earth, Air, Water, Demon, Death, Hades and Map of Atlantis)

Your estimated playing time (in months):

Reason why you want to join Legends:

    References/Recommendations (optional):

Legends Forum Username: (optional, see below, submit only if you have registered or want to register at the forum right away)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

Send the above with your answers to:

email will be back up shortly, as for right now send application per PM to me

If you do not hear back from the Legends administration within (at the longest) two weeks, we DO ask you to follow up with another email regarding the status of your application!

What you can do while you wait:

Even before you are admitted to the Legends group, you can register at our forum which has been outsourced from Facebook to an independent platform. You can find the forum at the following address:

    http://www.castleagelegends.com/forum/

After you have registered at our forum, please include the username you picked for the Legends forum in your application email (see above, last field of application email). Or if you have sent your application email already, follow up with a second email and tell us the username for the Forum. This is so we can better identify your account at the Legends forum among new registrations. You will get limited access already before you are accepted into the Legends group, and full access immediately after you have been accepted.

You will also be able to post there with the advantage being that it is easier for you to follow up with your application and ask or answer any questions that might occur.

So, What Is The Legends Group?

We are - in number - a relatively small group of currently just over 200 players that all share an appreciation for the PvP aspect of the game. If you share the same sentiment, then the Legends group may be - sooner or later - something you want to check into. We are a very tight-knit stick-together bunch with relations and connections among each other that much more resemble friendships than plain game-group interactions. However we are as Castle Age players also ALL strong individualists, with different character builds and different approaches even on the PvP aspect of the game.

The Legends group hosts some of the "oldest" Castle Age players. "Oldest" meaning how long they have been playing the game, some of us since the very beginning. Even though it cannot be 100% confirmed some say Legends was the first group in relation to Castle Age (founded end of May 2009). This means that a lot of knowledge around the game has been accumulated by members of this group, and this is being reinforced by our new policy to expand, and also admit hybrid and high level player types who ensure that the knowledge extends over all aspects of the game.

Our "center of communication" is our - very active - forum (on a PhpBB platform) and we have our own domain name where we plan to add some features related to the game, as time permits. We held two in-group tournaments which were a lot of fun and we want to continue this tradition in infrequent intervals. We are also currently working on a group leaderboard, which will be initially based on the most recent tournament, however will also give all other group members a chance to get on it.

    Legends Do's and Don'ts

There are no real written for the group, but as a member of the Legends group you are:
    • Not supposed to actively use the "hiding" feature of the game. That means in detail battle your health down under 10 and then log out to prevent retaliation or being attacked in general. Obviously, this does not count if you are knocked under health while you are logged out.
    • Supposed to build your character as YOU see fit. No one is going to tell you that you have to have a certain amount of stamina, energy, attack, defense or health - or anything else from the game aside from the requirements.
    • Supposed to BE yourself. We stick together as a group but we are also individualists. We certainly don't always share the same opinion on something but we are respectful with each other in discussing our POV's.
    • Supposed to be respectful to other players. This does not really involve how often you can or cannot attack someone (that's even a matter of discussion within the group), but more how you communicate in case someone doesn't like the way you play.

    [UPDATE 1 - 05/24/10]
We are making the following amendments to the application/admission process:

    (1) There will be a weekly limit of new admissions. At this time this limit is set to a maximum of 5 new members per week. The reason is simply that we are still a small group (210 members currently) and it is not a good idea to admit too many people at the same time.

    (2) While applications can be made any time, decisions on new admissions will be made only once a week, usually on Sundays. Reason for this is to cut time and make administration more efficient.

    (3) And this is important for all new applicants: If there are more than 5 applications pending, new admissions (with the weekly limit in mind) will be made depending on merit and NOT in order of time the application received. In other words, if you meet all requirements you are going to be admitted prior to someone who does not meet all requirements. If you have an active member of the Legends group supporting your application, you have better chances than someone who does not have this reference. If you are an active poster here on the general forum and tend to be helpful and answer questions, you will be preferred to someone who either does not have an account here or has a tendency to make rude or abusive posts.

It's hard to say for sure... but Id guess about 10% - 15% of out members are Hybrids.

They are not excluded from any events and are welcome to participate along with the rest of us in everything we do... which is often chat amongst ourselves!

Can we apply even if we don't have all the artifacts?

I *am* building my character as I see fit; I do quests in order of energy cost so as to maximize my skill point gain. This unfortunately also means it will take me forever to open up all the lands. I've completed 4 lands already if that counts for anything.

It's over 5. My attack is over 1k. BSI's going down the drain though since I'm pumping stamina at the moment.

guys, i got already one application per PM - and i am going to ignore it (btw, it was NOT _Anty_, she actually had a reason to PM me).

it's really not that difficult. follow the explanation in the OP. if you are not willing to invest that much time then you are showing us right away that you are not really that interested and that we have no reason to actually want to have you in the group.

you can certainly apply. if you are accepted depends on how well you are going to "sell" the fact that you don't meet the artifact requirement, and this would count in the same way for other requirements.

I joined with a Hybrid build. After getting my arse kicked by pretty much everyone in the tournament I decided to move away from this build.

Slowly but steadily my build has become more PvP like. No one within the group asked me to change. It was my choice to do so.
