How do I get more magic? Seems to be one thing I am lacking and I am unable to buy it.

I just lost a battle and here is the info:

Heroes X 14
soldiers x 69
weapons x 38
equipment x 23
magic x 8

his army of 24 fought with

Your army of 69 fought with

Heroes X 5
soldiers x 25
weapons x 21
equipment x 25
magic x 24

the only glaring difference was magic, so i think i need more.

if you rank up at high general I think? you can buy magic as a reward.

From the FAQ:

Q: How do I get magic?
A: There are a few different ways to obtain magic.

1. Purchased from the Oracle using Favor points
2. Quest reward, such as from the special quest in the Land of Mist
3. Demi-quest reward, such as the first quest for Ambrosia
4. Demi-power reward, such as the 8th reward from Corvintheus for having 900 demi points
5. Purchased in Town once one has attained, and retained, the Champion battle rank.
6. As a reward for successfully defeating a monster

At the lower levels especially, you should be focusing on fighting little monsters (dragons and sea serpents) for the frequent and plentiful drops which will fill up your invasion force. This will give you a leg up over other players your level who are expending a lot of effort fighting the big monsters and getting less loot for their efforts.

Chasing best-in-slot weaponry is something that should be done after you have all your slots filled. Better to have all the army outfitted with mediocre gear than to have one guy decked out and everyone else going into battle naked!
