Unhappy Income notification bragging

Can we PLEASE have an option to get castle age to stop prompting us to post how much money we've just received? I'm to a level now that if I even log in 10 minutes apart, I get this spammed across my screen because I apparently got a huge amount of cash since when I last logged in. It's starting to become irritating. I'm sure none of my friends, on or off Castle Age really cares. Only ones that would are the people trying to attack me in battles.

Yes it pops EVERY TIME I log in and this the worst possible notification to post on your wall even if you are willing to post something.

i am afraid for now all you can use is a popup/ad blocker, like Adblock for FireFox. This will block all kinds of FB popups though.

This is actually the only reason I came to the forums today. This, other than the "you have won 10 more battles" popups are a menace and enough to almost make me want to quit. They are annoying! Does anyone like them? Is there an advertising reason they are needed?

I think you just answered your own question. Marketing theory holds that more advertising is good advertising, and "viral marketing", i.e. one friend to another, is even better. Especially if it's free.

Standard response rates for advertizements are around 1/1000 in print media, last I checked. How many notifications appear in front of potential new CA players every day? Millions? It's a numbers game. A constant stream of new players is required to sustain the CA financial model.

Eventually we may persuade the devs to chage the marketing strategy vis-a-vis the constant barrage of notifications, but you have to ask yourself this:

Why are they still doing it if everyone hates it?

Answer?

It gets results.

I agree its to do with advertising... Getting a developer to admit it would at least make me feel slightly better.

But I think like most web type advertising... there should exist and OPT OUT checkbox.

Lena,

Please tell me one popup blocker that will take care of it and I will get it... I doubt that there is one myself.

Each and every thing that could remotely be seen as an acheivement or milestone, be it making a new level, or reaching a new level in one skill or other such as Energy, qualifies as 'Bragging' and entitles the person to their share of 'Bragging Rights'. Yes, some may well abuse the option so your page is loaded with an overflowing line of SO&SO did this that or the other thing. But do you actually VISIT with each and every member of your Army? I doubt it... Any of your CA Friends that spam your wall can easily be ignored with just a mouseclik.

I don't post EVERYTHING it offers to let me post, and yes, I'd appreciate having the option of setting my own standard for when it even offers to post something. But that standard would only apply to myself. And as it is, simply dealing with it and clicking the SKIP button has the same affect.

If you are using Firefox, the "Adblock Plus" and Adblock plus elements hiding helper" plugins will do it. They can also block all the ads on facebook, which is a plus.

(although it probably makes facebook and ad supported developers want to scream)

And Panther??? Even if you DID post your income, the only people who will see it are those you allow to see your wall, namely, your own friends and members of YOUR army unless you have it set to open access. And that's fixable
