The loot you can collect would be based on the number of 'battle wins' you accumulate - I doubt that anything more comes into it, though it may also have something to do with your level. There are also siege weapons.

Total kill of players is also the main determinant in how many hearts you will receive from beating the raid. Generally it is around twice your kills.

Unless you use the 5x options. Hearts will only be about 18% more than number of kills then (which is horrawful).
