Thread: More Defensive Generals for Monster Hunting

Default More Defensive Generals for Monster Hunting

There are remarkably few defensive generals. That didn't matter much until stance monsters and their need for generals of the same type to be combined into an alliance. There are only three defensive generals intended specifically for monster hunting, assuming the Wikia is correct: Charlotte, Lothar the Ranger and Agamemnon. All three of these have +crit chance. Agamemnon also has +attack vs monsters. In an alliance, +crit chance gives only +25% of the second general's and +17% of the third general's abilities. An alliance with a level 20 Zarevok and level 20 Dolomar, has +500 attack vs monsters and +8.48 crit chance. An alliance with level 20 Agamemnon and level 20 Charlotte will only have +238 attack vs monsters and +5.87 crit chance (+6.81 if Lothar is also used.) Why even resort to Zarevok when you could use Sahar or Sorkan for en even larger bonus? It's better to combine these few defensive generals with aggressive ones, until you need to hit a stance monster... To get an alliance high enough, it's likely that Daphne, Katherine, Dawn or some other defensive generals will be used just to get the stance high enough for the monster, and hope that the added attack and defense is enough to make it worthwhile. Possibly, some generals that boost defense could also be used (though the bonuses tend to be small compared to +monster attack.)

Wouldn't it make sense to add some more defensive generals for monster hunting? Specifically, there should be a defensive general that does 3x Power Attacks. And, there should be defensive generals for some of these: +defense vs monsters (helps with healing/strengthening/cripple/deflect), +healing vs monsters (and possibly deflect), +strengthening vs monsters (and possibly cripple), +crit healing, and +crit strengthening.

I'd rather LSI builds don't get an easy way out of adding defense for healing. So please no +monster def hero.

You are supposed to switch to a Defensive General when you heal.

I use 6* lvl 80 Barbarus to hit mobs.

I use 6* lvl 80 Kath to heal my damages.

Why would you believe that general stance or stats over level 4 have any effect on healing? Have you ever tested that?

“When healing on monsters, the healing formula uses the player’s defense stat, along with any bonuses to the stat. These include the Defense Rune, if forged to an item and equipped, the defense portion of Item Archives, if they are enabled, any Tinkerer items from the Conquest Path Shop, if they are equipped, and any defense bonus from the currently equipped General.”

General stats have no effect on healing.

    Neither does Resistance.

All that is considered in Healing monsters is Player Defense Stats. That includes ONLY actual White & Green numbers that show by Defense in your Keep.

The only valid reason to switch from Barby to another general is not needing the 3x heal. Or to equip Halcyon, Aurelius/Corvi, or another general that adds to Player Defense green number. And even then, once you're over the defense threshold for the specific monster, diminishing returns kicks in much worse than for attacking.

General stats matter but only base stats. (not sure if base was considered level 1 or 4). That's what I remember anyways.
