    Default Proposed Elemental Combat Change V2

    All Elementals will be active at all times.


    You will get a threshold bonus based on how well you pierce, and how well you defend over.

    Physical is still more powerful than the elemental.


    Attacker: 500 fire pierce.
    Defender: 100 fire resist.

    The player in example one will get a higher bonus than example 2.

    Example2:

    Attacker: 100 fire, 100 wind, 100 earth, 100 water
    defender: all 0

    More information please? That's very sparse on details, and I have no understanding how it works.

    A few questions off the top of my head:

    How much would the second attacker need to balance the bonus of the first attacker?
    What happens if the defender has more resistance in some categories and less in others?
    (Or, what happens in the case of attacker = 100 fire and defender = 100 ice?)
    How much more powerful is physical?

    I'm sure I'll have more questions as there are more details to ask questions about.

    Also we need examples with physical pierce, and actual values how big is the increase.

    I can't really give you the formula's just giving you the idea behind it. We think this will work to satisfy the goals we are looking for , keep physical strong and make the elementals matter.

    then as i pointed out, the samael top armor is nerfed...

    unless there is some change to it forthcoming.

    What I like:

    You are very clear in articulating the developers hope (despite struggle) to move in this direction. Players need some semblance of certainty, even when we don't like the change, knowing the change and having an idea it is permanent.

    There is something simple about everything active all of the time.

    400 fire surplus is stronger than 100 of each. I like the idea that being a "specialist" means something (even though it is very much anti wall).

    What I don't like:

    I'm one of many players that systematically worked thinking of a system where elements needed to be turned on. Not the biggest deal, but still a bummer.

    Leaves me very very skeptical about the formula, ie. how physical compares with elemental, and guarantees (as I imagine it) that I've incorrectly forged at least 3 chaos gems and 2 shiny earth gems.

    Pushes the game even further away from raw stats having value. I still think raw stats should count for something.

    Perhaps stating the end goal and letting us make suggestion on how to best achieve it/them would work better.

    Any word back on interest in actually getting direct feedback from players, I know the volunteers are still motivated?

    Nerfing gear appears to be a non-issue at this point. What do you think about the rest of it?

    How about more examples?
    What happens in the case of attacker = 100 fire and defender = 100 water?

    What happens in the case of attacker = 100 fire and defender = 50 physical?
