How to successfully accept gifts and requests

No, it's not really that bad!

Here's a little guide to accepting CA requests and gifts.

Some generals:
Accepting gifts can seem like an endless procedure, getting forwarded from CA to the facebook request page and back to CA countless times. Sadly, this is necessary due to some rules put up by facebook. Just be patient and you'll be able to receive all your gifts.

(...since so many people seem to have trouble with this particular bit, I shall highlight it) - Make sure you always accept your gifts right away. Each friend can only send you one gift at a time. So as long as you haven't accepted it, your name won't show up on their list and they will not be able to send you another one. Same goes the opposite way: if you find your friend list for sending gifts nearly empty, then your friends simply haven't accepted and received their gifts yet. You will only be able to send one, once they have accepted the first gift.


How to go about accepting gifts:

There seem to have been issues with lost gifts if gifts were accepted from the request page when the person had not been on CA yet that day. So I suggest you log onto CA (stash your gold, do some fights and quests or whatever it is you like to do first thing) and do this before trying to accept any gifts. Once on CA, click on the gift tab, then on 'invite'. You will then see a few pictures of people who have sent you gifts.

Click 'accept'

This will lead you to your facebook request page where you will be able to find requests. Due to certain rules implemented by facebook, it is necessary to accept each request individually.
You may have clicked on 'accept' for one person, but once you're on the request page, another person's gift shows up on top. Don't worry about the difference in names. Just accept the top gift on your facebook request pag.

This will lead you back to your CA page, where you will be asked whether you have more gifts to accept. Click yes if you do, no if you don't.

Do this until all the pending requests are done.



Errors and solutions:

It sometimes happens that an error occurs when you accept a gift. For example, the page may not load properly and you end up on a white page with an error message in the middle instead of on CA. If this happens, don't panic. Nothing is lost yet. All you have to do is click on 'try again' until you're forwarded to CA. That way you will receive your gift.

If, however, you missed out on a gift because you went back to the facebook home page instead of clicking on 'try again' (no worries, it happens to all of us every now and again), you will lose the gift. In that case, you will still see the gift pending on CA, but when you click to accept it doesn't show up in your request page any more. If this happens, make sure you first accept ALL the gifts that are still visible on your facebook request page. Once all of them have been accepted, go to your CA gift 'invite' tab and click 'accept all'.
'accept all' will give you a warning that you will lose the gifts. That way your friend will still get accepted into your army. Also, they are now free to send you another gift :D

...i had to leave a space before gift&uid= to avoid the word filter. Get rid of the space in order to use the link.

and add the user ID of the person to accept to the end.
If the requests should ever turn up on your facebook request page, please do not ignore them. The gift limit has been put down to 16 at the moment for the very reason that a number of players used the link I've just given you above and then ignored on facebook... which facebook then marks as spam and cuts down on the number of invites we can send.

...and another suggestion:
I found it best to go into CA and at the home page it says (someone) has sent you a (gift). Remember who and what they sent, then click accept gifts and it takes you to the FB reqs page. Accept that specific gift from that person and you end up in CA gifts page. Dont click yes or no but instead go to the CA home page and it shows another gift, repeat the process til you have no more CA gift requests.

I find I have a problem when the gift doesn't show in CA but does show in FB if I click to accept it I get the same half white screen everyone else gets. I have heard that gifts take longer to show up in CA than in FB so I have one left in FB that never showed in CA so I will leave it alone and hope it shows in CA.
Can everyone try my solution ie go from CA home page click accept and only accept (FB) the specific gift u accepted in CA then move back to the CA home page to repeat.

Facebook Chat also seems to interfere with the Gift receipt process.

Someone in our Guild wasn't having any problems during the Great Golden Egg Debacle, and we finally realized that the only thing that they were doing different from everyone else in our group was that they never logged into chat. If you log out of Facebook Chat (Chat - Options - Go offline), before accepting gifts, or doing other things that might be glitchy at the moment, your results seem to improve considerably. I haven't had any problems accepting gifts since I started doing this.

Or try King Hrothbeort's method:
Go to the army page: http://apps.facebook.com/castle_age/army.php
For each gift you will see accept/ignore links.
Copy, but be sure not to click the "ignore" link
Paste in it to your browser
(It will look like: apps.facebook.com/castle_age/gift_accept.php?act=ignore&rqtp= gift&uid=[some FB ID number here])
Change "ignore" to "acpt"
(Now it will look like apps.facebook.com/castle_age/gift_accept.php?act=acpt&rqtp= gift&uid=[same FB ID number here])
Hit return. You will have to do this for each gift.
Click all the "accept" buttons on your Facebook page. This doesn't do anything, but will prevent the number of gifts you can send each day from being lowered.

Go to privacy settings, you'll find a list with blocked people there... just remove the two you accidentally blocked :)

Their requests won't show up on facebook later, facebook automatically ignores them for you, so you won't be able to receive them even now... but at least you'll be able to receive in the future.

I made the stupid mistake of pressing blocking permenantly 1-2 of my CA mates from Facebook Request page.

Now when I get gifts from them they appear in CA but not in the facebook request page. How do I unblock them from the request page so I can accept gifts from them again?

Are they friends of yours? If they are you should be able to bring up your Facebook settings page and remove them from the block list that appears on the first page that comes up after clicking settings/privacy.

Your solution is already mentioned..go to army page and do following :

There is a way to get around going back and forth between castle age and facebook and a way to get gifts you've lost the request from.

pasting:

into your browser

where ######## is the facebook account number for the person sending the gift will automatically accept the gift and you never have to go to the facebook accept page.

If you have the status bar option enabled on your browser you can simply mouse over an invite and the status will show you their facebook account number at the bottom, this will give you the gift, but not remove the now useless request link on facebook, but you can just ignore those later to clear them all out.

i think gabriel meant that if you have a gift/request on CA army page but lost it on FB notification page, then accept gift cia the link and ignore it on CA army page, NOT the FB notification page

There is a way to get around going back and forth between castle age and facebook...

I'm fairly sure that the facebook request links were meant... as the explanation is specifically so you don't have to go back to the facebook request page, then back to CA, facebook request page, CA...

Well I don't know about ignored requests reducing your amount of gifts, because I've ignored requests from many people and continue to receive them every day from those people who's requests I've ignored in the past. Are you sure you aren't thinking of blocking the application? Also you can clear them out after they are useless by clicking to accept them and it just takes you to castle age and does nothing more than remove the link on facebook.

But if you do loose the link on facebook that one I posted works for sure.

its not that your invitation number will personally be reduced. it will happen for all. Every app has a certain limit. At some point a couple moths ago, FB changed the way invitations worked. If they were ignored in request page, but accepted in-game, they were considered spam and limited the app to allow less invitations/user. So we went from 20 to 16 invites, then 12 then 10. Same way in Underworld we went from 16 to 2 (!). After the gift introduction, more people started to accept from FB request page, therefore limitations were lifted and we now get 24/user here in CA, which is record-number compared to other popular apps

many people will ad you for the game and as soon as you accept they delete you from friends. This way you may find them in the army but not in your friends list any more. I guess your gf had more friends that play CA when you guys started, although some have removed her now but kept you, since they didn't send a request to you yet

you will be able to send gifts to those friends once they accept the first gift, or if they already accepted, 24 hours after the first gift.If something went wrong and they did not receive it you could cancel the gift by going to army page and stop messenger in the "sent invites" tab. However you will have to wait the 24 hours since you last send it

read the first posts again! it is supposed to take you to FB home page. if there was a mistake and they are no longer there, go to FB army page and select "accept all" to remove all previous pending notifications, and then follow correct instructions as written by Tania (Caitir Evans) in the start of the thread.

if you want to, instead of removing all by hitting "accept all", you can do the following :

1) when in army page Right Click the "ignore" link of one gift. Careful :Right click, not left, or else you will be ignoring the gift.
2) from popup menu select "copy link" or some similar choice that your browser gives you and then paste link to the address bar

Link should look like this :

http://apps.facebook.com/castle_age/recruit.php?act=ignore&uid=X

where X is the FB id of your friend
3) Replace the "ignore" part with "acpt", so that the new link looks like this

5) Repeat for all gifts that do not show in homepage, then when you are done select "Accept all" so that the notifications will go awy

I agree with this post. Whereas the art on this game pwns most of the others available on FB, tech support is left wanting. I wrote to support some time back
about a lost gift, having had the same problem (my apologies for not having seen the forum link! :rolleyes:) that is mentioned here, but never got a response. So I had been resigned to losing those gifts with the "Accept All" button. Now I see that, if I so want those gifts, then I'LL have to resolve the problem CA has allowed to exist in their game. IMO, it is asinine for ANY company to expect their users to go above and beyond what is expected from their product. In other words, FB is the top layer of the hierarchy, and if your program does not work the way other programs make it work, then it is inferior. I have had no problems with any other programs in the area of gifting and being gifted, for in their wisdom, those companies have worked around the "FB rules" and allow for the gifts to be receivable from the outside of the game. They also have ways to filter out KIA/DOA opponents, carcasses if you will, from their battle pages. Get your coders/programmers working.

Now then, I know it's a bit of a heavy rant, but it's because I enjoy the rest of the game so much that I'd rather see these items resolved. It irks me to lose out on gifts due to programming, and it irks me to end up losing my life while searching for opponents who are at my level AND still kicking. Good luck in hopefully working on these issues, and continue the great work on the art!

P.S. IMO, I think the previous Celesta artwork was stronger and much more appealing than the current one... sigh... I miss the old Celesta.

This is a deeply flawed system and whoever tested it needs shooting, or if the test analyst who found the problem was overruled by the Project Manager then the PM needs shooting: someone needs shooting!

Players shouldn't be able to lose gifts so easily, fair and simple. They shouldn't have to come to a support page to do something so basic as to accept a gift.

I've lost several gifts so far. The way this has happened is I've been recieved a Facebook notification I have a gift. I've clicked on it, gone into the game then it's presented me with a Give Gift screen. From this point it doesn't matter if I send gifts or ignore, I've lost my gift.

Castle Age will now continue to tell me I have a gift but as soon as I click on accept it takes me back to Facebook which, ofc, has no gift now. The only way to clear it is to go to the gifts screen and select accept all which is such a bad work around as it doesn't give me the gift.

The only way I've found to get a gift is to ignore Facebook, go in to Castle Age, click accept gift, click accept on facebook, pray the 'Give Gift' screen doesn't decide to appear and I get my gift. Ridiculous.

All you have to do is go into CA for the first time during the day so that the give gift screen is gone.
Any other time you can accept from the request page as much as you want.

Now, it happened to me once, that the first thing I did to get to CA was use a gift. I lost 1 (spelled out: ONE) gift. I realised that this is not the best thing to do, so I never again accepted CA gifts first thing in the morning. The give gift page only pops up the very first time you log into CA - so if you've done your fights and whatever, you can accept gifts as you like and you never lose one again. It's not so hard to remember to go into CA first.

Surely, if I only ever lost one single gift, then the people who lose one every day must be doing something wrong... make yourselves a sticky note (on paper) and stick it to your computer screen saying: log onto CA before accepting gifts. All you have to do is remember that one little thing.

Plus - there IS a way to get those 'lost' gifts. You just have to put a bit of effort into it rather than just wanting it all given to you in a mouse click.

I realised that this is not the best thing to do, so I never again accepted CA gifts first thing in the morning. The give gift page only pops up the very first time you log into CA - so if you've done your fights and whatever, you can accept gifts as you like and you never lose one again. It's not so hard to remember to go into CA first.

Surely, if I only ever lost one single gift, then the people who lose one every day must be doing something wrong... make yourselves a sticky note (on paper) and stick it to your computer screen saying: log onto CA before accepting gifts. All you have to do is remember that one little thing.

Plus - there IS a way to get those 'lost' gifts. You just have to put a bit of effort into it rather than just wanting it all given to you in a mouse click.

Like I said, asinine. Frankly, all we have to do as users is drop the game. If other games are more considerate to their user base, then they are the ones worthy of my attention. Instead of continuing to ask your consumers to bow down to the game, the programmers should be working on fixing the problem.

The game is being played ON Facebook, therefore FB comes first. We should not have to go to the game first before accepting the gifts that are on the base software, the portal to the game. The requests on Facebook are there for a reason, and CA is bypassing that.

And, "rather that just wanting it all given to you in a mouse click" should not be a statement said to web users. On the net, the web pages that take the least clicks to get results are the most successful. If you are a representative for CA, then you might reconsider obtaining some business sense.

individual request are supposed to take you to FB to accept them. The "accept all" button ahould throw away all gifts and just accept invitations. after that you should be in the army page, not FB notification page. If it will not work this way, try accepting manually every lost gift doing the following:

for any request notification that still remains in army page but you can't find it on FB notification page follow below link, replacing X with the friend’s FB ID:

This way you take all the gifts, and you get rid of the notification as well

Hi there, I'm having an issue with gifting in castleage, I have lost several mystery artifacts and mystery scolls that my friends have sent and I can not figure out what the problem is.
What's happening is when I click on the accept gift button on the FB request page, it loads castle age just fine but for whatever reason, the gift I've just clicked on never shows up in my game. - usually there is a line of script that shows up telling you what you've just accepted- that never shows up even though the game will load properly, seemingly without incident.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be? This is really starting to yank my chain. I've had this happen in other applications as well and I can not figure out what the deal is. Would a high number of people currently using FB affect how the gifting thing works? Because I've had trouble in the last few hours getting CA to do much of anything. The pages don't want to load, they get stuck when trying to click onto a different page... I don't know what the issue could possibly be, I don't normally have any trouble with this game.

They probably cancelled your gifts, thinking you made a mistake when accepting... and then sent you another one. You still have the request showing up, but it will probably tell you for 2 of them that they're no longer valid.

That said, has anybody successfully added people to their army using the URL posted here? It doesn't seem to be working for me. Could it be an issue that the browser I'm using is not supported? (Google Chrome).

Having trouble accepting gifts.

I was requested to join a friends army - before ever signing up for CA, but accidentally hit 'Ignore' on the FB requests page... then I decided to Sign up for Castle Age. My friends request still sits on my CA homepage, but I cannot accept it b/c it no longer exists in my FB requests page. Also, another friend gifted me, and the gift doesn't appear on my FB requests page, and now I can no longer send nor receive gifts to either of those people.

I've followed the recommended steps to clear out that gift request with no effect.

Any insight/assistance is appreciated.

After the dragon eggs came out, I can receive dragon eggs, but can not accept the mystery gifts (scrolls and artifacts). Ran into error, retried 10 times each. Not sure if this is because of the spike in bandwidth or code broken by the new gifts.

EDIT: okay it may be related to the spike in the gift request volume (due to the new eggs gifts). I can receive the gifts again (with a few more try after initial error message) after log out and log in.

I accepted a gift from from the requests page on FB, which led me to the gifts page in Castle Age. I then clicked on Accept Gift, only to be taken back to the FB page where there was no longer a link for the gift. Now, I can not accept that gift or receive new ones from that friend. This is the only game I have these issues with. It seems redundant that I have to go to the game first, then go out of the game to accept the gift, and then back into the game to receive the gift. All of my other games I simply use the FB Requests page to go to the game, and I don't have the problems of loosing gifts or getting stuck and being unable to accept others. I know my friends are having the same problems, because I can't send them any gifts and they play frequently. Please fix this issue, or I will not be playing this game anymore.

Start in CA instead of clicking the message in FB first. If you start in CA then go to FB then back to CA you shouldn't have any issues.

The problem is that it is stuck. They can not send me any gifts, and I can not receive any gifts.
This shouldn't be a problem, as none of my other games have this issue. It is something in the way CA set up the gifts.

you either sent them an invitation in the past 24 already or they have not accepted it or somehow lost it. You can check the "sent invites" tab for them and stop messenger. After that they will show up.

Ever since we have been getting the Dragon Egg's as gifts, my system keeps shutting down. I go to accept the egg, and it goes to a complete blank screen, and then I have to restart CA all over again...and the egg is still there to accept, I go to accept it again, and again blank screen. This leads to more problems, because no matter what I am doing on CA now, I keep getting a blank screen...which sucks when I am in battle, and I finally find someone that gives 8 battle points and $100,000, so I battle them a second time...blank screen...restart CA and end up back on the main page with that Dragon Egg still staring at me.

What to do? Help me if you can!

By the way, am I correct in my belief that if I remove somebody as a friend they remain in my Army? Because my name got spammed into a bunch of "add me" threads for games I had not previously played, I wound up adding a few applications and my total Facebook friends got up to 4,500 at one point! At the moment NEITHER of those links is working. I double checked to ensure the person was not already in my Army. This seems to be a common problem throughout Facebook lately; I can't add anybody in Mafia Wars either (no idea if other Zynga games are working properly).

I've read most of this thread and I don't see anything along the lines of my problems here (hopefully I didn't miss something). But I can get into Castle Age from either of my bookmarks without a problem, but if I try and accept ANY of the gifts that my army has sent me, I always get the error page and can get no further, even though I've tried to refresh and hit the "Try Again" button up to 10 times. :(

Does anyone have any clue as to what might help solve this problem? I'd hate to go through and just ignore over 30 eggs and several of the other gifts currently sitting there.

There ahve been a lot of facebook issues recently, and the devs seem to have changed something in their coding too, to make it work better. When the error page pops up, it generally is a facebook issue, not CA. I guess if one doesn't work, don'T try to accept another one until a lot later and see whether it works then. Also, once you tried to accept and it's gone from your request page, there's a nice code you can use with addition of someone's profile ID to accept your gift. You can find the code on the bottom of the first post :)

I have done what you said, I can get the eggs for some reason without any problems it is the other gifts that when I accept on the fb page and it goes to ca it gives me an error note, I have done like you said I hit try again and try again and try again and nothing happens, I try to reload the page and it is lost! It is getting very discouraging. I understand there is a high useage at time and there are bugs but out of everyone on my group I seem to be the only one that keeps getting the message. I have updated my flash player, cleaned my computer and anything else and it is getting old! thanks

I have to admit - I don't know why. For the past few days this seems to have been happening to a number of people that a big part of their army doesn't show up for gifts even if none is pending. Makes me think there may actually be a bug - which may, in turn, also explain why I can't seem to find a couple of my army members there (I just haven't checked my sent requests as I have too many of those). I guess all we can do is be patient and hope that it will be fixed soon :)

For some people it may be that the gifts are still pending. But others said that they removed pending requests and the friends still don't show up. Oh thank you so very much! I'm not sure if there was something wrong with the syntax of the code I was trying to use before. I have discovered that using the link, it doesn't generate the message saying "Player X has joined your army". Since the other games I play do that no matter HOW you add them, I thought it was not working. Actually going to the last page of my army members, VOILA!

If the requests should ever turn up on your facebook request page, please do not ignore them. The gift limit has been put down to 16 at the moment for the very reason that a number of players used the link I've just given you above and then ignored on facebook... which facebook then marks as spam and cuts down on the number of invites we can send.

Other than the issue of Facebook and SPAM (and the possibility that you will accidentally left click the Ignore button and miss the artifact) is there any downside to this method? It is MUCH faster than going back and forth between Castle Age and Facebook, and I have not noted as many page load problems when I've used this method.

Bill Osler: if you then click ignore on facebook, as it seems you're wanting to do - then people like you will be responsible when the daily limit for gifts goes down to as low as 8 per day (I've experienced this on other applications). Sure, if you want to only be able to send 8 per day, go for it. I think most people would strongly disagree with you there. I think that's a big downside, no other needed to convince me not to ever click ignore and to try accept them one by one each time.

I think I did not explain myself very well. I DO NOT want to click 'Ignore'. However, the easiest way to create the URL required to accept a problematic gift is to RIGHT click 'Ignore' on the Castle Age Army page, copy the link location, change the part that says 'act=ignore' to 'act=acpt' and then go to that URL.

Aside from the obvious risk of LEFT clicking Ignore by accident, is there a downside to this? When I DO encounter Castle Age stuff on the request page I ALWAYS click accept, but that process frequently seems to hang and create its own problems.

I have noticed that when there are hang-ups in page loading the Castle Age and Facebook request queues frequently get out of sync and one will show requests that do not appear in the other page. Clicking the 'Accept All' button does not reliably clean that up if the Facebook page shows items that are not shown in the Castle Age page.

I guess the point to posting the question is that using shortcuts to accept gifts will sometimes work but I don't know if it creates other problems.

Okay I'm going to give a little tip on how to quickly accept all the gifts.
I receive @ 50+ gifts every day from my 1200+ friends.
Using firefox makes this very easy to accept all the gives quickly. Takes @ 20min.
1st off, Log into FB and click on the requests URL.
On the requests page 1st, click on the IGNORE for all the stupid group requests you get. This shortens the list.
Then confirm all the new Friend requests.
Now for the gifting:
Using the tabbed browsing makes accepting gifts much quicker.
1. Basically if you hold down Ctrl then click on "XXX gift request" say 5 times it opens 5 tabs each on the top of the X gift request list.
2. Now starting at your 1st tab, click on Accept then hit Ctr+Tab to go to the next tab.
3. Click on the next gift sent request. Then hit Ctrl+Tab again. Repeat 5x.
4. Now on the 1st tab you'll be In the CA application and just hit the (Accept) url to go back to the list of gifts sent to you. Then hit Ctrl+Tab to go to the next tab and just hit Accept.. Repeat this process over and over till you get through all your gifts sent to you.
5. You don't need to wait for the page to finish loading as you can Ctrl+Tab to the next tab and when you get back to the 1st tab it should be done loading.

This is the quickest way to manually go through all your gifts sent to you each day.

Hope that helps a few of you whinny folks out there.. :cool:

For getting the ID: 'pick up' the user name with your mouse (just click but don't let go, and drag the username slightly, as if you were planning to put it into a new tab... it'll then show you the ID numbers there in the end :) Just memorise a few, let go of the name and type them in the top, then repeat, memorise the rest. Or memorise them all at once *lol* I always need two goes though when it happens.

I have a question concerning gift army units... I have received several gift Pallys, Clerics, wizards ... and a dragon or 2. But when I attempt to do a quest that requires, say, a dragon, it's red/blocked out showing that I don't have one. Do I have to buy them separately? If so, what are the gifted units good for?

Gift units are good for battling as they will be used in invades even though they don't require upkeep. However they can't be used for questing purposes, you need to actually purchase your units for that aspect.

If you can't send them gifts, they may not have accepted your previous request. You can only also send to people who are your facebook friends as well.

If you think they should have accepted by now, go to army, sent requests, and stop the messenger. THey should pop up again for you to send things to.

There's a code in the first post of this topic. You just copy and paste the code into your browser when you're on the army page. You then see lots of unaccepted gifts. The ones that are not on your request page: if you hover your mouse over the person's name, or slightly drag the name, you'll be able to see their profile ID at the end of that. Attach that number to the code in the first post -> accept your gifts :)

Was a nightmare.
So now I set 3 tabs on the confirm page. I receive with the last two-> leaving the first one alone for a return list.
I can then chose and return in quantity while referencing tab one.
It still takes 1/2 hour.

I have a ton of gifts every day and I'm not going to bother pasting on every single one it could take literally half an hour just to get a gift, fix it for Pete's sake!! I'm not sure the addition of 'new' to the link is something the devs could do... since it happens in ALL applications I play, I do assume it's a facebook issue, facebook need to get it sorted. I have trouble accessing my account, just general facebook pages, too... luckily know how to sort it, but I know others have the same problem and can't get in.

I have read this thread several times and I have tried every thing you have mentioned here to try, with no result.
It is only one friend who has sent a dragon egg and I can not accept his offer to accept the gift nor can I join his army. He has joined my army and can accept gifts from me.
Any other ideas?

If he joined your army, you joined his. It works both ways. Only one has to accept for both to be added.

Are you still facebook friends with the person trying to send you gifts.
Also, even though you say nothing is showing up on your army page, maybe they could see whether one is still out for you and cancel the messenger.

If you can't receive gifts from that person in the future, try contacting the devs to tell them about it, but give them 2-3 working days for a reply (that doesn't include the weekend).

From the image, i see that the link you used contains the username, not the FB ID .. IDs are just numbers. Since your friend uses a username, visit their FB profile and then click their profile pic. Their profile album will open, and the url will be something like :

Try a different browser and see if the problem persists. Make sure it is the most recent version of that browser. You could also clear out the cache/cookies just in case, but I'm not positive that will do much in this case but it's worth a shot.

One other thing can go wrong that I don't remember reading about. When I am in the Facebook Requests page and click 'Accept' I sometimes get a message that says 'Service not Available' and a suggestion to try again later. If I press the back button I can sometimes recover. I don't remember what happens when I press Refresh (F5). I can always recover the item from the Castle Age Army page if necessary.

Any suggestions about how to recover from 'Service Not Available'?

Ok, I think now I at least understand some of what was confusing me about gifting, now I've read some on this topic. But one thing still seems wrong. When I first started to play, many weeks ago, I had 3 invites to join an army. When I clicked accept, got sent to FB page, no gifts were there.. ok.. now i know what happened with that. If someone sends me an dragon egg, it shows up just fine.
But I keep getting 'join army' requests, over and over, from people that are in my army already. One guy is my cousin, as it happens.. get requests to join him often, and the only way to make the offer stop showing is to use the 'Accept all' button.
But then next day, same people will be there with 'join my army'... if I click accept, I might go to FB page, find a gift and do that back n forth thing.. but as often,there is no gift, and I have to use Accept all to make the offers stop appearing. I am not waiting days and days to accept these things.. usually do it the day they arrive or the next, if I'm pushed for time.

But I don't understand why I keep getting offers to join the army of people who I already joined long ago ? My cousin was the first one I accepted, ages back and he still shows up every so often with this 'join my army' thing.. and often, no gift attached. It seems wrong to me.

I also understand FB has rules that you have no control over. But nearly every other game I play on FB, a couple dozen of them, have a system where you find a gift request on the FB page, click accept, and get taken to a gift acceptance page, where you can click either 'yes, I have more gifts to accept' , and that would take you back to FB to accept another gift, or 'No, no more gifts', which takes you to the game. Some don't have this yes/no setup and each gift takes you direct to the game, so you do have to go back to FB yourself to get any more gifts. ALL of them require it be done one at at time.. which is annoying but that's the rule and so be it. I wonder why CA can't have a similar system. There is usually a different page associated with requests to join army or clan or whatever, separate from gifting.. Not all, but a high percentage, have this separation between gift giving and joining up with other players. I am merely curious as to why CA seems to have such a complex set up.. though if it turns out that there is a glitch with my game, perhaps this previous paragraph will turn out to be redundant. If so, I apologize if I've wasted your time with it.

This just happened to me for the first time *lol* I rescued my gifts with the same link I posted in here and it worked fine.



Furballs: If you click on a gift to accept it, it will take you to the request page. You click to accept there, it takes you to the army page, where you can see other people who have also sent you gifts. You click accept -> it sends you back to the request page. It's the same as if it said 'more gifts' or 'no more gifts'. So there is no extra page needed.
If not all of them show up on your request page, maybe you just have more than 100 gifts ni total (from different applications...). It only ever shows a maximum of 100, and if you've got 20 from one application, 44 from another, 39 from another, 61 from another etc. it adds to more than 100 in total, so it will cut some of the gifts at random - and it may well decide to show all the 61 from one application and 39 from another and not show any CA gifts at all, even though they're there. Just make sure you accept (or ignore) all your other requests and the ones you want should show up.

I'm not sure if this helps but for the accepting people that invite you into their army you do have to do it one by one technically at least till u click the link i am not sure if u ahve to 100% load befor u press back on your browser.

BUT for mystery scrolls and artifacts you can accept all (which reqires a script that i use) it makes a checkbox by all your requests from every application and has the option to check all and mass accept I've tested and when i accept 5 mystery scrolls at once for example i get all the ingredients in my alchemy

What's the script you use to accept all requests at once?
Personally I dn't think I'd do it, as facebook is the reason for why we have to go one at a time... I wouldn#t want to get banned for using a script. Also, you then don't see what it is you've been gifted.
I do recommend though you save your left over gifts with the code I provide in the first post. You never have to lose a single gift.

I have a tonne of gifts backed up from when it kept giving the error message. Latley I've been trying to accept all the mystery artefact and scrolls, however when I click on facebook confirmations page it it just takes me to my army page and says more people have sent me gifts to accept. It's not giving me a confirmation that I've accepted the gift (when it shows the picture). Anybody have the same issue?

Here's a little guide to accepting CA requests and gifts.

Some generals:
Accepting gifts can seem like an endless procedure, getting forwarded from CA to the facebook request page and back to CA countless times. Sadly, this is necessary due to some rules put up by facebook. Just be patient and you'll be able to receive all your gifts.

Make sure you always accept your gifts right away. Each friend can only send you one gift at a time. So as long as you haven't accepted it, your name won't show up on their list and they will not be able to send you another one. Same goes the opposite way: if you find your friend list for sending gifts nearly empty, then your friends simply haven't accepted and received their gifts yet. You will only be able to send one, once they have accepted the first gift.

The notification issue:
You can invite people into your army by sending them a CA request (which will gift them a random soldier) or by sending them a gift of you choice from the gifts page. Once a person joined your army, they will stay in your army forever. But CA only sends out one type of notification - telling you that your friends accepted the gift and joined your army. Don't worry, they never left your army. It's just because the notification is the same no matter whether your friend just accepted a gift or did actually join your army.


How to go about accepting gifts:

There seem to have been issues with lost gifts if gifts were accepted from the request page when the person had not been on CA yet that day. So I suggest you log onto CA (stash your gold, do some fights and quests or whatever it is you like to do first thing) and do this before trying to accept any gifts. Once on CA, click on the army tab. You will then see a few pictures of people who have sent you gifts.

Click 'accept'

This will lead you to your facebook request page where you will be able to find requests. Due to certain rules implemented by facebook, it is necessary to accept each request individually.
You may have clicked on 'accept' for one person, but once you're on the request page, another person's gift shows up on top. Don't worry about the difference in names. Just accept the top gift on your facebook request pag.

This will lead you back to your CA army page, where you will once again see pictures of people who have sent you gifts.

Do this until all the pending requests are done.

Errors and solutions:

It sometimes happens that an error occurs when you accept a gift. For example, the page may not load properly and you end up on a white page with an error message in the middle instead of on CA. If this happens, don't panic. Nothing is lost yet. All you have to do is click on 'try again' until you're forwarded to CA. That way you will receive your gift.

If, however, you missed out on a gift because you went back to the facebook home page instead of clicking on 'try again' (no worries, it happens to all of us every now and again), you will lose the gift. In that case, you will still see the gift pending on CA, but when you click to accept it doesn't show up in your request page any more. If this happens, make sure you first accept ALL the gifts that are still visible on your facebook request page. Once all of them have been accepted, go to your CA army tab and click 'accept all'.
'accept all' will give you a warning that you will lose the gifts. Never mind, as the request is gone from the facebook page, it is lost already anyway. There's no way to receive it now. So 'accept all' is the best thing you can do :) That way your friend will still get accepted into your army. Also, they are now free to send you another gift :D


If all else fails, use:

and add the user ID of the person to accept to the end.
If the requests should ever turn up on your facebook request page, please do not ignore them. The gift limit has been put down to 16 at the moment for the very reason that a number of players used the link I've just given you above and then ignored on facebook... which facebook then marks as spam and cuts down on the number of invites we can send.

all the above info is great but what if you click on accept in CA and it takes you back to your FB home page and ther is nothing there.

I don't know about your computer... but for me personally, it would maybe save 10 seconds. To be honest, it's not worth it if you can't spend the extra 10 seconds on an application you like, considering that you have to wait 5 minutes for your next stamina to refill, or whatever you're waiting for.

As soon as there's a gift on your fb request page, it is ALSO on CA. Click on army and you'll see it.
I don't know why you lost so many points. If you know that accepting it from fb before going into CA makes you lose the gift, why do you do it more than once?
Plus, just because you get an error then doesn't mean your gift is lost. You could use the code I gave you. But NO - you want the code to be changed to make it easier for you.

I have said this several times: I have not - ever - lost a single gift. It is NOT that bad. It really isn't if you do it the right way.

OK I Read threw all of the Posts and a lot of Good info but still have an Issue sending Gifts. About a week or so ago I was able to send and receive gifts with No Problems. I then received a FB email from an Army Mate and Friend from Other Games on FB and said that My Name disappeared from Her Gift List in CA Yet I was still sending and She receiving My Gifts, and she couldn't send me anything in Return. I had then recruited More Army Mates, Up to 41 Now and I noticed that Only like 15 Army Members were showing up in My Gift List.

I'm Missing over Half of my Army in my Gifting List Yet Check my army, they are all in my Army, 42 of them but only 15 show in Gift list. They are all still Friends in FB and Friends in Other Games and still exchanging gifts there, and Checked to make sure they are not Blocked. They are Not Blocked But still don't show up in CA Gifting List, But do show in the other Games and I can Send them Gifts there. Other Games Show them ALL but limit how many I can gift too. In CA it seems they deleted all but my last 15 Army mates to send to and then have removed my Name from their gift list as well.

The only Ones that show in CA Gifting list are the ones recently added to my Army, I'm missing My Long time CA Army Members from my gift list. Now I understand if they haven't accepted my Gift they wont show up in my Gift list again until they do, and I do have a Limit of how many I can Send Each Day, but they have accepted my gifts, longer than 24 hours ago.

I have been gifting to all on my list (half of my Army) and only been receiving back 1 or 2, I need to confirm with those not returning gifts but I bet I'm not on their gift list as well.

I have checked with a few Army Mates that are receiving my Gifts, and accepting them But I'm not in their list to gift back for the ones I'm able to send to. Also check with a few that Were on my list, but not any More, if they received and accepted my gift, they said they did accept the gift, and that I'm now not showing on their gift list and has been over 24 hours.

This all happened about a week or 2 ago, When FB changed up their log on page and had issues logging onto CA. I've cleared Browser cashe, tried different browsers. the only thing I saw in the Forum Here was to un-install CA from Facebook and reinstall, but want to know before I do that will I still have my account with all my goodies still there? hate to do this and find I have to start over.

Sorry for being long winded, just wanted to concise. Any Help is appreciated, and Thanks for all your work Here, wished other games had someone like you to put something like this on a forum to answer these questions.

eek:Or when in CA, instead of clicking "accept all", right click on "Ignore", copy the link, paste the link in address bar do not hit enter and replace "ignore" with "acpt" (without "") then hit enter.. That way you want loose the gift :)

To check whether you blocked invites from that person, go to privacy settings, application and news feed, and then settings again. Scroll down completely, you'll find the list of who you blocked application invites from. If that's what you did accidentally (happened to me before) then you can un-do it there :)


@Tidbinbilla, you could also try that... you might have accientally done the same sort of thing, or just blocked application gifts or something.

They show up in facebook, but when I click on them, I'm transferred to CA and there are no links to accept them.

I'm sad. I want those gifts. I have successfully accepted gifts just a few days ago, so I don't understand why it doesn't work anymore.

Go into CA first, then that links you to fb. When you accept it, that's it, it's accepted. No need to click anything else on CA.

If you are using Internet Explorer, try using Firefox instead. The box won't show up there either, but if you click on the friend it will choose the friend for you.

I'm not aware of any but I stopped looking once I found out that FF works. FF has been my primary browser for a long time.

Or when in CA, instead of clicking "accept all", right click on "Ignore", copy the link, paste the link in address bar do not hit enter and replace "ignore" with "acpt" (without "") then hit enter.. That way you want loose the gift :)

This works great when, somehow, you can't accept a join because it's not in FB anymore.

So... my friend is sending me the dragon egg gift... and im having several problems after this

1. im not receiving the notification
2. it doesnt show up in the CA Army page(it doesnt show up on the home page either), but it DOES show up in the FB requests Page
3. when i choose to accept from the FB Requests page, it brings me to the army page with no gift (said egg... very dissapointing imo).
4. after i have "accepted" it without receiving any of the said eggs, my friend can no longer send me anymore gifts, until he goes out cancels it waits a little while a tries again...

this is a constant problem and i can continuously recreate it. so its not just a one time thing... (and i wish it was cause all i want is a red egg QQ)

No, sending gifts does not send them from your inventory. Think of them coming from a gift store that is independent of anyone's account.

I was clicking back in forth to my FB and Castle Age pages, accepting gifts this way. After I clicked "Accept Gift" of one of my friends, Castle redirects me to the Army page (the one with extra invites).

I went back to my confirm page in FB and clicked another friends' gift request, then Castle redirects me again to Army page. I repeated this process about 10 times, each clicking a different friend request. But it always takes me to my Army page.

Unfortunately I think I'm just outta luck on this one, but I feel gipped out of my soldier so I thought I would ask. My boyfriend invited me to join his army, so I went to his request on FB and clicked accept. At that point I allowed the app access to my profile and set up my game, but I never received a random soldier as a gift. At that point there was still a link that I could click on to accept his request to join his army, but it would take me to my FB requests and there would be nothing there, since I clicked on it already before I set up my CA. That link is no longer available. Is there anything I can do to get my soldier? :confused:

There are various reasons that this might happen, but if there is nothing in the Facebook accept page you have 2 choices:

First choice (simple, fast but forfeits all the gifts) is to click the 'Accept All' link.

Second choice is to use the technique that bypasses the Facebook page. It is tedious and you have to do the following steps for EACH request:
In Castle Age, RIGHT click on the IGNORE button for the gift, click to copy the URL ("Copy Link Location" or something similar). Edit this URL by replacing the text in the middle of the URL that reads: ?act=ignore&uid= to read ?act=acpt&uid=
Then, paste this entire URL (not just the snippet I quoted above) into the address bar and go to that URL. That should accept the gift. Make SURE that you DO NOT LEFT CLICK the Ignore button.
If you use this technique it is possible that sometime down the road you will see these same gifts on the Facebook page but when you click 'Accept' in Facebook you will go to Castle Age but not receive a gift. If so, that is not surprising and does NOT represent an error - you have already received the gift. Make SURE that you do not click IGNORE on the Facebook 'Confirm Requests' page because that will create problems between Facebook and Castle Age.

That sounds like what is supposed to happen. When you are in Facebook and click to accept the gift you SHOULD be taken to Castle age with a message about what specific gift you received. That page should offer you an opportunity to send Army invitations and also show a list of gifts that have not yet been accepted.

If the requests should ever turn up on your facebook request page, please do not ignore them. The gift limit has been put down to 16 at the moment for the very reason that a number of players used the link I've just given you above and then ignored on facebook... which facebook then marks as spam and cuts down on the number of invites we can send.

Is there any way Castle Age can warn FB users NOT to accept gifts until they are in the application?

All the other applications will allow us to accept gifts from our request page except this one! It's very easy to click "accept" - but then we loose the gifts.

You don't lose ANY gifts until you click ignore or accept all in CA. For a start, I think it only doesn't give you the gift if it's the first time that day you log onto CA. But then, once it happened the first time, just try to remember not to do it next time.
Also, just use the code in the first post to save those gifts. Nothing lost yet just because it doesn't show up on your request page any more :)

You can't send them anything if they're not your facebook friends. Gifts are linked through facebook. If you want to send and receive gifts again, add those people again or add a few more different ones to increase your army size and make sure you keep them in your fb friend list after.

ZeroX1999 - sorry, you can't undo it. Once you clicked accept all, the gifts are gone. It even gives you a warning when you click it, to make double sure you know what you're doing.


dibdo - I don't really know why the numbers would have gone down. Some people could have kicked you off their army. Something like that. It's a big number difference though, I do hope that they were still all on your fb friend list and you could invite them back.

Probably because they're already in your army? All notifications say '...soandso joined your army' but it's just a standard notification that's being sent. No matter whether they're in your army already or not.
I'd check whether a person is in your army or not. If they're not, then your count should go up.

Yes, you have to accept the person's gift before you can send them a return gift. Also, you cannot send them a second gift until after they accept your first gift.

That 'feature' of the gift system can occasionally cause problems when gifts get lost in cyberspace. The sender doesn't know that the gift is unclaimed, the receiver doesn't know a gift has been sent, and neither person can send the other a gift.

It's easy to unblock the person if that is the problem. Go to your main Facebook page. At the bottom of the list of friend updates you will see a link labeled "Edit Options". Click that. There are 2 lists: One for blocked friends, one for blocked applications. See if your friend is on the Blocked list. If so, unblock her.

I think the blocked/ignored lists are the same, so this should take care of it either way.

When I send my sister a gift she can't see it on her home page, but she can see it on Castle Age, how ever when she clicks accept it just goes to Facebook home page, why is that?


Also, she can’t see any gifts from me for any game. I’m not on her block list or anything. Also, she CAN see my new feed’s just not any invites to anything.

When I try to accept gifts from my Facebook request page, it tells me that I have ignored the request!

And it just happened AGAIN! The 1st time it happened I was not 100% sure, but this time I am QUITE certain that on the Facebook requests page I clicked 'Accept' but Facebook displayed a message that I had IGNORED the request. The request is still on the Castle Age page. The first time it happened I recovered the gift using techniques outlined elsewhere on this thread, but this time I'm not sure what to do. I don't want Facebook to think that I'm calling these gifts SPAM.

I don't know if it matters, but I was using the Safari browser at the time.

For some reason my browser ignored a gift, when I pressed accept. Castle Age still has my gift in the app, but when I press "Accept Gift"

Thing is, it may not be a CA problem. I notice that Facebook also did some updates. The newsfeed 'Hide' buttons are working differently than they did before. This problem shows up on a Facebook page. That makes me think this problem is more likely Facebook than Castle Age. I wonder if anybody is having problems accepting stuff in any other 3rd party application?

I reported the problem as a Facebook bug. Not that I'm optimistic about a response to a mere user.

It just started doing this today and its really starting to get on my nerves, and since its counting it as ignored it will probably piss off a lot of other people as well if they are getting counted as spam and gift sending gets reduced! >.<

Yes...this is happening to me in CA, FishVille, FarmVille, Mafia Wars. All the gifts I accepted came back as ignored.
Also my CA army has been reset to 1.
This is ridiculous. I sure hope there's a chance at recovering everything.
Otherwise I may be done with these games. Just too frustrating.
I think it's either Facebook or Zynga. They are all Zynga games that i had trouble with. I haven't noticed anything in the PlayFish game I do.

If you are having a problem accepting gifts here's the solution for the current bug issue.

1. Go to your Army tab.
2. Right click Ignore link and copy the properties and paste it to your Notepad then replace the "ignore" with "acpt".

Example:

3. Now paste the link to your browser.

If you are having a problem accepting gifts here's the solution for the current bug issue.

That will work, but as mentioned elsewhere in the thread there is a potential downside. Once the gift issue is corrected this will probably leave you with a bunch of requests showing on your Facebook page even though you have already accepted the requests in Castle Age. It is VITAL that you DO NOT CLICK IGNORE on the Facebook page in an effort to rapidly clean up the backlog. You will still need to 'Accept' each of these in Facebook individually.

I think it's either Facebook or Zynga. They are all Zynga games that i had trouble with. I haven't noticed anything in the PlayFish game I do.

I don't really understand the first half of your post :S

Gifting and accepting is very easy. To gift, you just go to army, 'send gifts', choose the gift you want to send, choose CA friends, click on friends, select 25, send it off. Done.
To accept, well, you just click to accept.

Also, 501 army in 5 days (seeing as you can send 99 extra invites apart from the 24 gifts). I think that#s quite quick. In the days when I had to get my 501 army, it was 12 gifts a day and the extra gifts didn't exist yet either... now THAT was a bit more of a challenge, time-wise.

Check your sent gifts, cancel the messenger, she must have not accepted your previous request yet.

I hope I'm not asking something that's already been answered, but I read the first page and last few, and don't see this.

I was able to accept things as normal for a while today. I had a LOT of requests to join my army, and I don't need random soldiers anymore, so I clicked "accept all" in Castle Age. Again, my FB newsfeed was full. I don't know if it only gives you a certain number at a time (like friend requests) or what ... but I clicked "accept all" again in Castle Age.

Now Castle Age does not show any people who want to join my army, or new gifts that have come in the last couple of hours, but they are in Facebook. When I click "accept" in Facebook, it takes me to the Castle Age army page, but doesn't tell me what I got (ie dragon egg, etc.), nor does my army number increase.

It may be FB, since I seem to be having issues with Farmville as well, though that might be an in-game issue as well. That's beside the point though.

Just wondering if there's anything I can do to clear it all up? I don't really care about random soldiers, but I'm still interested in those trident pieces (I'm short by one) and I always collect pieces for dragonbane, etc.

Lost a bunch of gifts that got sent to me because when I pressed accept on facebook I only got an errorpage, no matter if I retry or whatever, it just shows the same and it happens everytime...

Also I think it all started when I accepted a gift and had just sent a gift to one specific person, whom now I not only can't sent gifts but also can't recieve my gifts for whatever reason, it doesn't show up on her side, last but not least, tried deleting the messege but it doesn't even show up!

So I'm beyond confuse now

I'm getting really peeved!! Every single day I am losing gifts! I accept or try to accept the 3 that show on the main Army screen but there comes a point when all three are MIA in my Facebook listing. So, I still click on them and at least accept all the gifts that are appearing in Facebook but when there aren't any more to be accepted I am forced to go back into CA and do an Accept All - Which of course not only means losing those three you know are missing, but several after them that are also missing in Facebook.

We have to accept all or else we end up having problems gifting people, because for some stupid reason this game doesn't see a member of my army if there is a gift outstanding (not yet been accepted). This really needs to be fixed. In other games I can have several gifts out there from the same person and I am still able to gift to them. But CA prevents that sort of thing. Why???

Why are there so many problems? Why can't we just accept our gifts that appear in Facebook and then go about playing the game. No other game makes you come to it to accept a gift first!! No other game prevents you from gifting someone that is in your Army (mafia, team) because a gift needs to be accepted first. Why does CA make it that way???

I hope that your programmers are working on this problem. Surly they are as smart as the programmers that have developed the other games? If they aren't, then you either need to send them to training so they can become smarter programmers, or you need to replace them with some that can actually make this game work without all the frustrations!

I'm getting really peeved!! Every single day I am losing gifts! I accept or try to accept the 3 that show on the main Army screen but there comes a point when all three are MIA in my Facebook listing. So, I still click on them and at least accept all the gifts that are appearing in Facebook but when there aren't any more to be accepted I am forced to go back into CA and do an Accept All - Which of course not only means losing those three you know are missing, but several after them that are also missing in Facebook.

We have to accept all or else we end up having problems gifting people, because for some stupid reason this game doesn't see a member of my army if there is a gift outstanding (not yet been accepted). This really needs to be fixed. In other games I can have several gifts out there from the same person and I am still able to gift to them. But CA prevents that sort of thing. Why???

Yes they do. Well, all i play anyway :p You either go to the gameand gets a notice about some gifts, or you go via FB-Home (http://www.facebook.com/reqs.php) and clikc you way back'n'fort for as many gifts you have.
Thats just how FB thinks it should be.

You would do better telling that to the FB-Devs..;) (Not that they ever listen to someone as simple as an FaceBook user...

One way is to put it in the message when sending the gifts.

I hope I'm not asking something that's already been answered, but I read the first page and last few, and don't see this.

I was able to accept things as normal for a while today. I had a LOT of requests to join my army, and I don't need random soldiers anymore, so I clicked "accept all" in Castle Age. Again, my FB newsfeed was full. I don't know if it only gives you a certain number at a time (like friend requests) or what ... but I clicked "accept all" again in Castle Age.

Now Castle Age does not show any people who want to join my army, or new gifts that have come in the last couple of hours, but they are in Facebook. When I click "accept" in Facebook, it takes me to the Castle Age army page, but doesn't tell me what I got (ie dragon egg, etc.), nor does my army number increase.

It may be FB, since I seem to be having issues with Farmville as well, though that might be an in-game issue as well. That's beside the point though.

Just wondering if there's anything I can do to clear it all up? I don't really care about random soldiers, but I'm still interested in those trident pieces (I'm short by one) and I always collect pieces for dragonbane, etc.

They will be there until you accepted them all individually (or ignore them, but if you ignore them, facebook will put the limit on gifts we can send down again... I'm so glad it's gone up to 30, I would like it to stay that way).
So, no, there's no way to clear it out other than accepting them all. And you will not be able to see what you got, because you didN't get anything. Your forfeit your gifts when you hit accept all. Shouldn't do that again if I were you.

Well I seem to be having the same problem then most people here...

Lost a bunch of gifts that got sent to me because when I pressed accept on facebook I only got an errorpage, no matter if I retry or whatever, it just shows the same and it happens everytime...

Also I think it all started when I accepted a gift and had just sent a gift to one specific person, whom now I not only can't sent gifts but also can't recieve my gifts for whatever reason, it doesn't show up on her side, last but not least, tried deleting the messege but it doesn't even show up!

So I'm beyond confuse now

Go to army, sent gifts, stop the messenger.
Also make sure you properly accepted that person's last gift.

I was trying to "ignore" invites from a friend and hit "ignore all" it seemed to catch on a loop...the next thing I knew all my Castle Age gifts disappeared from the main FaceBook page and I haven't received any for 3 days. (I have recieved gifts from other apps just fine)
I have not "ignored" the Castle Age app and have no trouble accessing it, and I have checked my "settings" for the application and it is fine.
Any ideas on how to get invites to start coming to me again?

when CA says I have a gift waiting CA then redirects me to my home page, but when I click on accept gift or accept friend, nothing happens and the request disappears :confused:. then when I go back to CA it says you have a gift waiting but now when I click on accept and it redirects to the home page, the gift/friend link is gone :eek:........... so far I have recieved 2 out of 6 sent items/friend requests.....please help....I haven't clicked on accept all in either the gifts or the friends but I'm pretty sure that I've lost my gifts anyway :( I hope you can help, oh ! and btw, I have a high speed internet connection so it's not that it's just taking too long

I click the "accept gift" or even the accept invite thing on CA'a homepage or army page. I click "Accept" on the FB page, it loads a blank white screen with the same link listed in the OP... I try to reload, on occasion it'll still give me the gift if the first reload press works... but if the reload brings up the blank page 2+ times... it just ends up going to the CA Army page with no mention of gifts or army requests. I've even tried opening a new tab and using the link in the OP with the user id that was brought up when i clicked the "accept" button on the FB request page >.>
Is there anything to do at this point? Or is it just a FB issue that made me lose the items?

If the gifts still show on CA, then I do suggest you read the first post of this topic (can't believe it's the 3rd time that's been said on just one forum topic page in the past week..). It seriously DOES have all the answers.

Have you accidentally blocked gifts from the application? Go to your application specific settings (as in, privacy settings, and then click applications and choose settings there... that's different from application settings) scroll down, see whether you blocked CA. Though I always thought it shouldn't allow you to block an application you play yourself.
Send some gifts to friends and see whether they send one back. Maybe message someone and ask if they could send you one to try it out.
