View Full Version : Warning message: Dear Ms.chainer..

In the midst of my boredom to CA, I get a message from my friend asking for advice. here's the message(name censored):
*** ******** said : "Dear Ms.chainer.. 32 hits in a row?? 10 are considered in a good gamer, 20 a poor gamer, 32 a chainer. If i post your name on my guild wall high level gamers will come by to kill your character. If you continue after that my next move is to post your name on my army wall and then your character stays dead all the time. So please dont pust me to post your character. Final posting would be everyone who plays CA with your real name exposed as a chainer. I did that to one guy and he cant play anymore. Your choice."

My friend is working to raise her battle rank and found not so strong target that she could win so she hit him(HK rank) till "finally killing blow" message appear.
I should have asking here before taking any action or telling my friend what to do. Is it legal for my friend to keep hitting him? Is it legal for me to help my friend? (this must be fun, but I dont want to make people feel bullied. CA already lose many players each days so I think we need to make remaining players enjoy this game)

Anything done within the parameters of the game is fine. People tend to love pushing their own "rules" on others.

and the high level threat?

recently a guild who did wrong against us used the same threat. doesn't matter. if you truly believe what you were doing is not wrong (even helps if you're in the right):

Tell her to follow the red button. When I am on the boards if I find you alive and I can beat you (and some I can't beat) I will take you below ten health. Chaining is not 1 string or hits, even 32 hits. Chaining is the relentless day in and day out inability to play bc someone is keeping you dead and tell her if she gets hitlisted...congratulations :D some of us consider that a compliment, but she can always log off below ten health to keep them from hitting her, they will eventually lose interest...well unless they are me or one of my more bloodthirsty friends :D

Who would you deem a bully?
1 vs 1 PvP
or
Many vs 1 PvP

It's your friend's choice whether she wants to push someone who seems very bound to their own--albeit unbalanced--code of game ethics; however, from a strictly game rule perspective, your friend has not done anything to feel ashamed or remorseful about.

...and this. ^^^

Personally I would send a message verifying the above, and telling them to send as many/few people as they like, see if I care, and a little lecture on trying to constrain the liberties of others. :p That's just me though, and I'm not a great fan of people right now. :p

Imo, tell your friend to chain that dolt even harder. Hitlisting hasn't been a threat to that many people since bouncing was discovered.

There's no such thing as chaining. Sadly pathetic whiners who cant tolerate being attacked in a battle game are all too common :)

Hit hard, and hit repeatedly and go for the kill.
Expect the same back.

Or play Farmville :P

People that make threats should be chained for a while just so they know that their threats did nothing good other than ensure that they would get chained a lot longer. If they do realize that hitlist threat, you should chain for weeks/months to show them that instead of having someone chain you 32 times, they got chained hundred/thousands of times and that bully hitlisters will not be tolerated. Oh and make sure tell them that you would have moved on if they had not threatened you, that's very important!

Let alone that 32 hits... that's.......... nothing....... I chained several people thousands of times and I was chained by several people thousands of times...

As many have responded, this game allows your friend to do what she did, as does it allow the other player to retaliate and try to gang up on your friend. If the other player does that, it is commonly called 'hitlisting'. For the most part, the CA or FB developers will only take action if the activity crosses from game play, including game related threats, into real life threats such as sending a PM stating 'I know where you live and I am going to come to your house and... hurt you, kill your cat, etc".

My only caution to your friend is to ensure she is fine with the potential repercussions of this situation escalating. This could become something that dominates your friend's game play, or if the other side includes a cheating scripter, your friend may be kept permadead every time she logs on. Many people here in the forum and in the CA community enjoy this aspect of the game, and a common tactic is to tell the whiner that if they hitlist your friend, your friend may not be able to win against the whiner''s friends, but that your friend will respond to every hitlist attack by yet again chaining the whiner, until the whiner realizes that the result of the hitlist will gainer the whiner nothing but more problems. These situations can be resolved quickly, or I have seen them last months. Good luck.

Expanding our circles, good sir. :)
If I followed my natural tendency, I would still have my army of 3. It worked for nearly 200 levels, I only broke it because I figured I should TRY to make nice and expand my horizons a little.

Of course, if you get some total nutjob on your case, you should take action against -that-.

IMHO, if her high level guild mates support her in her threat against your friend, they're bullies and wimps, too.

Tell 'em to come find my keep if they wanna have some fun :)

Cerbykins

It makes them blind sheep at most, but the disadvantage of that is, they have to 'wear' everything that goes with the people they choose to follow. they may not actually BE bullies and wimps...but they'll be tarred with whatever the mail sender gets. Just hope they realise it... :p

Is it legal for my friend to keep hitting him?

It's legal, as already pointed out. Personally, I also attack people till they are out of health, but then I leave them alone. The best part of PVP is the excitement whether you can beat the next opponent. So it may be efficient to kill the same weak target over and over, but it's no challenge and no fun...

So I'd advise your friend to move on, completely independent of the threats... However, she should make clear in a PM she finds such threats cheesy. If she is too nice to do it, she might need you for that.

My response to these things is always the same.

1. Kill them
2. Cut and paste the kill info
3. Send that to them as my only response.

Repeat as needed.

It solicits some entertaining responses and keeps them from misunderstanding your message. It also takes away any hope they have of distorting what you said as they try to get help.:D

#1 Most people can't beat me anyway.

#2 Even if I did make an enemy out of someone more powerful, I play for about 5 mins a day now anyway so.........lol.

if your friend has a decent bsi and level make those high level bullies bounce on her feed or his feed.

copy the keep url and use it to hit her more often i say. you can't be losing battle points if you keep hitting and you don't have monster hp.

Thanks for the response from you guys. I should tell my friend to direct the whiner to this thread so that he believe my friend has not doing anything wrong.

I personally follow 3 hits only doctrine for each target and I stuck in rank 15 after playing 2 years. :o
I believe someone really need to "chain" others to advance in higher PVP rank.

For the hate mail of course.

Now everybody knows if I get that kind of threat I message back stating clearly I will chain that person 10 times for ever one hit I get. I also make it clear all those who hit me get the same treatment. :D

32 hits is nothing more then warming up the click finger.

10 are considered in a good gamer, 20 a poor gamer, 32 a chainer.

is it just me or has anyone else noticed that most of the whinemail on here all contain that same hit rules.

It is NOT chaining if a person finds you on their battle page and hits you until dead. That is an attack run and you weren't strong enough to stop it. you had a rank useful to your attacker and he/she took advantage. It is how the game is played.

but if they whine then chain them :D

Done that. I found a rank 20 that was clearly running an auto player set to auto heal every minute. Since I could kick the s*** out him, that came in handy on my road to high king.

This is a major over reaction to a in game threat. Nothing was on a personal level so why go that far?

I have received death threats ( several) and a few have threatened my family and have gone so far as to look for personal info and post it. Those are reasons to report to fb. I never did.

If your so uptight that you feel the need to report people over a message like this one I suggest you stop going on line and live under a rock.

You are aware of course that you are playing a WAR game?

Even the loot you get off of monsters is used for war. Why on earth would you play a war game, and then report people for doing what the game is intended to for?

May i suggest Farmville to you, or perhaps MyZoo? Or Even Fairyland? They are safe games. No war involved, very safe.

"As the saying supposedly goes, education is about gaining a better set of prejudices right?"
I still haven't chained anybody, because I was so sad about being chained to death repeatedly in my first weeks of play. I joined along with a surge of new players in Feb '10. most of whom were chaining me & keeping me pushing my HEAL button just to do my 3 experience quests...
But after reading this thread, perhaps it wouldn't be so evil after all to win those 17 battle points more than 2 or 3 times. Hmm...
