Playing now. Slow as heck but there are a lot more features already (as seen in the sneak-peek images posted a while back). Those who had been leveling in HoD even after getting Persephone will be glad to hear your stats are carried over to this one.

I agree I will leave if CA moves to flash, but I think this is the devs way of trying to expand the CA franchise into a totally separate flash based version. It's like Law & Order and Law & Order SVU, separate, but related to each other.

I figured out how to equip generals. Gear appears to be automatic, as my gear appears in battles, and didn't do anything to equip it.

As soon as you start you first duel it will show what you have on. even if you get other items and a guardian it wont show them but they are still there. I know this cause my general is leveling up =P

I do not like the looks of this all... When the time and money and effort aren't worth fixing the bugs in your existing application than you do a complete re-write. Once the majority of the user base has moved over to the new version of the application then you stop supporting the old version. Looks like a play straight out of Microsoft's play book to me.

I have no intention of starting my character over and they didn't port over my "real" character, just the crappy festival one. My only option then is to boycott this new version of CA entirely in hopes that it is a flop. There is no money in supporting multiple versions of the same application. Just like in Highlander, in the end there can be only one...

Yeah, it's the same quest as her. Just summoned him myself, but get errors when cta'ing it.

when an app gets overwhelming reports to FB in a short-time frame, FB automatically locks game down and it is like it never existed. you have to wait for a real person from FB to review the game/reports to decide if the app is spam, against FB TOS, etc or if it is all fine and dandy.

happened to a game i played that was released to alpha testers, and the people who didnt get into the alpha slots decided to report game to FB for being unfair or whatever. took a day or two before game got back up again.

the automatic lockdown feature facebook has is just when a threshold for reports is crossed or something, and it automatically shuts app down until someone can investigate it further. i suppose this is all a good thing because some developers might not be too savory of people, especially when it comes to dealing with moolah.

this is all assuming it was facebook locking down the app, and not the devs themselves just taking it off the market for now. im not sure what all goes into the process or what threshold is - just know what the devs for other game said. devs were pretty upset that they lost out on testing time for such stupidity.

I actually think it's the devs and not FB, pooh's link was to a page for the Ap not a direct link to the Ap and that to is now defunct, I can see how the Ap might be pulled by FB for spam reports but the page? It takes 100's if not 1000's of reports to get a page taken off FB and usually days for it to be gone not minutes or a few hours like HoD.

For starters, the game will attract people who might like castle age, but have no interest in starting a game at lvl 1 when other people are lvl 3000. Then it might fix some of the long standing issues with CA that people would complain about if it occurred in CA itself, such as equipment and health being worthless in normal battling, or gold being meaningless.

Ok, I just blocked Castle Age Heart of Darkness... And in my block list it is with Farmville, CityVille, whatever-called, and with all other crap, like mafiawars etc.! It's terrible, it's in flash. Castle Age devs or whoever is doing it, should better turn that game off because it's total failure and nonsense! They are just losing their time on it.

Its past bad this app is, already tried and blocked, I like the original game as it is, I will be encouraging all my circle of freinds also to ditch this as it means less time and help spent on the main game, I don't like the set up, I don't like anything about it, I waste of time and to be true they need to concentrate more on there main app and develop that more instead of roll this out when frankly it ain't needed.

Well, it said so on the screen, I don't know if it was a glitch or if I actually gained exp. But it could also mean that if you bounce people, you get nothing but battle points.

Yes im a Admin on the group you refer too that is fast in growing to promote blocking and deleting of this second rate addition, fix the main game and mine that goldmine, if people support this 2nd app too much of course the main app will suffer, there are loads of bugs yet to be sorted on main game so how will they get time with 2 ongoing apps ? more bugs on 2 games, more to do ? less time spent on main game ? lots of us already deleted and blocked this app, including many high levels, we will spread this around all groups and freinds circles on facebook, its not what the players want, we want the main game in a good state, not bugged up and give some things players have been asking for for ages now like female titles on CA etc, if they can go to the length of developing a new side kick app they can at least fix the main game and add features and content the players want.

The pattern seems to be that if you are attacked by someone else before you enter the game for the first time, you are given that person's name. :confused:

devs are doing CA and monster hero, okay it seems. i dont play monster hero at all though - so no idea what happens there.

devs gave people new battle system, new monster, and new gift system all in past few weeks. people still think devs are abandoning game? - if devs are abandoning the game - they sure do suck at it. the chimera monster even alludes to having 'masters' and 'titans' as a preview for future monsters. we havent even fought all the demi-gods yet or saved valeria.

and in case people remember, the mini-games section was slotted for 3 different mini-games. so we shall see how that pans out. people who play one thing, sometimes like a variation of it - so devs probably went along that same vein of thinking. and if yall havent noticed - HOD has a lot of things people have been suggesting in forums for months/years. drop down menus for one thing. x_x

and we hear all this whining about wanting to play more ca, have alts, have multiple characters, etc. well now you can do that legally in a different variation of the game so you arent bored stiff playing the same old castle age again with your 'new character'.

either put up with the flash clicky game, or dont. block it, play it, ignore it, etc i dont care. but it is extremely rude and disrespectful to devs to try and get game off FB/make people stop playing it - which makes all the time/money/resources spent on game worthless. and it is also extremely rude and disrespectful to your fellow ca players to try and get this mini-game shut down when they might enjoy it, stick with real ca longer because of it.

Everything except the Battle Rank 3 gloves and the armor equipped automatically for me. I've bought them through in quest (where they were required). When the game said I needed them, I bought them on the prompt and they just equipped auto.

I've also got Amulet of Despair equipped auto though I not sure how I got that one...

The town armor I've bought from the town with Gareth. But I'm still topless while dueling. The Zealot Gloves also won't replace the weaker town gloves.

Maybe the quest thing has something to do with it? Dunno but just throwing what I did.

EDIT: I just noticed I'm wearing shoes even when no quest required it. Hmm....

Definitely still a bit bugged~ I assume the army bonuses to energy (and later stamina) are supposed to add to your maximums, but they did nothing for me; the atk+1 at army 10 also seemed to drop my attack by one instead (not much a difference from 7 -> 6 but still). Although... at the moment, there doesn't seem to be much point to having an army from what I've seen... :p

I know that there are new HoD guilds out there, but I don't see any when I click 'Guild List', I just get taken to the 'Create Your Guild' page.

Equally, I suspect that there are a number of public monsters listed too, but not for me. I get the page, but with nothing on it.

Please link the group you speak of also I don't understand why people are disgruntled? you try HoD you either like it and carry on playing or dislike it and stop playing. Can I ask you do you play 'Monster Hero' and if not have you made a group complaining about it?

@ Kori many players are not happy with this, many paying players also with the main game, why make a 2nd app up to make a percent of your player base disgruntled ? in our first day we have over 700 people in this group and that wont be nothing yet as things will grow, why not have it all in one game ? the game we love Castle Age main game ? why not develop a gold mine you have ? and fix the bugs on that and get 1 right first before rolling out something totally different ? many issues to this new 2nd app alot of players aren't happy with.

I have some free time right now. So I'm going to stay on the forums for a while and try to answer some of these questions.

I'm not sure why they would be disgruntled? It is not like we are sacrificing one for the other. There are things we can't do before, such as "cooler" animation, that we can do with Flash.

As a gaming company/studio, our philosophy is that we should be trying our very best to provide the best gaming experience to our users. In order to do that, we have to try new things or our games will stagnate.

If we allow ourselves to stagnate, we would never find new, exciting features that would allow us further innovations to provide a better experience for our users.

its still doesn't answer why have 2 apps ? when it can be all in one ? yes can have new features in both thats good but why have them seperate in the first place with 2 sets of fps and 2 seperate games, 2 seperate bugs, 2 seperate everything, it devalues the original game can't you see that ? they can have the same features then why have 2 lol it dont make sense.

We didn't want CA:HOD to be inside CA because the theme and feel are going to be different. We didn't want HOD to be a "DLC" inside CA.

There are also technical stuff to consider as well. The codebase of CA:HOD is different and etc.

i doubt you'll ever be required to play HoD to be able to play Reg CA. You might miss on a freebie general some day, but i don't think it's ever gonna be more than that.

easy dude , they can do tons of games as long as they are separate , maybe they will have another team for the second game , im not playing the HOD but give the devs a break and some more time .

You are assuming that we are not scaling up our resources for further development.

We are expanding our teams and resources so that they can further accommodate both games and more in the future.

Some people have already noticed that FB support/Tech Support are faster than before (in some cases :D).

can't you see you got a gold mine with CA main game ? and if you spent a bit more time fixing all the bugs involved in the main game and giving a couple of very popular things to the players i.e ladies titles in the game and sort out a few glitches you have had for a while in the game and get everything right as you can, there wouldn't be so much of a problem you rolling out a 2nd app full of bugs and beta also ? many players are not happy with this thats the bottom line the customers make them happy first them reap the rewards of a 2nd app outside of CA.

Correct, we aren't going to force you play one game in order to maintain the other. That would be counter to our philosophy.

Not to walk in on this convo with Kori, but how does one collect in HoD? I did decent damage on a monster, but when I click the collect button, nothing happens. If I go back to the monster list however, I once again get a chance to hit that same "collect reward" button, but nothing happens. :(

Edit: Nevermind, apparantly it takes approx 2 minutes before a collect screen comes up, I'll just wait for something else to happen and show me my loot
