White screen of death

This issue is plaguing my friend and after seeing it first hand I need to inquire about it.
Her Castle Age app is extremely bugged. It is very odd. I can log into my character and everything is just fine. She logged into hers and there are all kinds of problems.
1.) The status bar for when you first signup (to like, allow publish, etc) bar is visible 100% of the time and held at 20% when she clearly has them all finished. Only App installed is completed on the bar.
2.) She has a recurring white screen of death when it comes to gifts. Yes, I am aware of the URL workaround to make them work. It doesn't work. Tried accepting multiple (she thinks there's like 20 pending, but now "hidden" cause of the glitch/show up on my army tab) and using the URL fix, but it just goes to a blank/white castle age screen. Tried the URL fix for multiple people and countless times total. Nothing changed.
3.) Also, during her play when she clicks a link (ie, to attack/defend during a fight) she will get taken to this white screen of death. Doesn't always happen, but it happens quite a bit from what I'm seeing.

Needless to say this is a problem and we are looking for solutions. She tried removing the app then re-allowing it, but it didn't work. I'm at a loss as to why this is happening. My character works fine. Her does not. Same computer and same browser. Very odd.

Problem is happening to me now, also.

To add it also is happening (going to white screen of death) when I try to send gifts.

Hope someone can figure this out. It's very annoying.

starting from today I'm getting it a lot when I'm trying to go to gifts. I just get a white screen most of the time. If that doesn't happen I get it all the time when I try to go to 'your CA friends' tab in gifting.

This morning CA let me accept gifts and army invites that I received while I was asleep, but when I tried to send gifts, I got the white screen again.

This is strange for me also. I can get/send gifts with one of my accounts but when I log into my alternate account I cannot see anything related to gifts. Same as you T, it is the same computer and same browser.

As of this moment, I have the WSOD on gifts, but yesterday I also had:
1. myself detached from my guild
2. an inability to chat on group chat screens, but OK 1 on 1
3. posts on walls disappearing, then reappearing
4. the inability to accept gifts or requests (followed later by WSOD)

I think it's FB related, they changed something drastically, so far only Zynga games not affected, but yea I can't process gifts on other games including CA. Some apps give error hint about session related, I tried clearing cookies and everything on the browser but the problem still around.

The Forum comments where total unhelpful. Can something be done about the problem(s)? IS something being done about them? This condition is not due to anything that the individual players have done..........this is "the games technical error"being done to us! We have friends that deserve gifts......we've been loyal players for months or years. What is being done to correct these problems?

It is happening to me also. For over 24 hours I haven't been able to receive or send gifts.

This issue really seems to be a Facebook problem, not CA. So lets not give the CA devs too much grief. It may be out of their control. I am having the problem too, but not just in CA. Other games are affected as well. Right now I can't send or receive from at least two games. DofD seemed unaffected so far.

Some of both, FB and CA, ie, maybe FB did some updates and now CA has to make some changes to fix things.

The guild blast is also not working. Tried in both Safari and Chrome, not having whitescreen issues yet.

I am suffering from same problem, cant accept gifts, but can seem to send requests for ppl to join my army, but no idea if they can accept them as i cant seem to accept requests for army members, sumtimes the 'accept all' will work but most of time it just goes to white screen, i cleared out all sent messengers, ignored all gifts i couldnt accept but still it persists using Firefox or IE, same as others here was fine up till about 24-36 hours ago, i am yet to suffer this with any other game to any degree but did lose a couple from Vampire Wars

for Firefox users
1)try clearing your recent history, everything including cookies.
2)proceed to your 'My Army' tab and 'Accept All' gifts. (if u're still getting white screen then this method doesnt work for u)
3)gotto your fb mainpage and then 'games', ignore every single requests.


alternate method
1)Download a brand new web browser, i'll recommend Opera. If u're already using Opera then use something else.

Sorry Nov, That might have appeared to fix the problem for you but it just does not make sense. Some of us can see and accept gifts on one account and yet not on another. Plus, I am using a brand new computer (which = no cache yet) and the same thing is still happening.

Have not had any problems with sending or recieving gifts/requests 2day, problem seems to be fixed

The things that don't work (and I've tried Google Chrome and Mozilla FireFox, have not rebooted computer, though.):

I cannot change generals.
Cannot put gold into keep.
Cannot start new monster fights from the links here in Castle Age Forums....

They seem to be updating at the moment so some things will be down temporarily. Try being a little more patient, this is the Internet everything has down time at some point. Giving the Devs hell will not make them fix the problem sooner.

As far as the comment about some players have been around for months or years then you should be aware that any game including this one occasionally has technical difficulties. Whining will get you no where :rolleyes:

Something must be going on because I get the white screen of death no matter what I do. Has been that way since I got home about 1/2 hour ago. I know some major FB changes were coming, maybe that's why. Hopefully CA will be back up and running before I go to bed.

I killed an Emerald Sea Serpent, got gold status, and was awarded 2 skill points, BUT I did not receive them!!!

I went up a level and got my 5 skill points before killing the Emerald Sea Serpent but am now afraid to complete a quest for a skill point, as that may be lost!

I used 4 skill points to get 2 Stamina, an had one left over, then I got shafted by not getting the 2 for killing the Emerald Sea Serpent.

not sure what happened with castle age but all actions lead to white screen of death..could be bugged facebook changes ..it worked ok last night but tonight it does not work at all:confused:
