Volcanic Shard... Give it up already!!!

I always check the Wiki's and the help forum (That damn search function is usless) for my answeres to things. I have always been able to find what I need after about two hours of looking. But I have just spent the last 5 hours searching for an answere to this question.

What am I doing wrong, I just can't seem to get any of the crystals from bahamut Alpha Bahamut or The new Fire dude. I put in no less than 10mill on a monster and I use all my energy to heal, deflect, cripple or strengthen. And I have only gotten one chrystal and that was back at the beggining when bahamut came out and I tradded the damn thing to Kobo thinking It would get me something good But no i think I got an ice orb.

maybe you need to put in 9 million?

or you could rub a a lucky rabbit's foot or dance around in a circle and then stop for a minute and jump or whatever you do to get lucky and hope for a blue crystal to appear. :p

I really don't know what to do. I have never really tried for those crystals because since they started releasing legendaries, i can't get enough damage in actually have a chance to get one.

I'm on a gehanna right now with 6.3 million and that's the most i've ever done to one of the newer monsters.

the game jumped ahead enough that i have to get stronger just to be able to try to get a legendary.

I'm a 266 I know they are level 300+ monsters but i thought 10mill was pretty good.

got my 1st crystalon my 1st bahamut without trying....shame i sold it to kobo by accident :(

moral of the story is: dont try for the crystals and u might get 1

and 2nd moral is: dont ever trade it to kobo by accident

i think it's sheer Luck i do 5 to 6 mill on bahas and they drop a crystal almost every time... am not sure if lvl matters cuz am at lvl 185.. but i had to go through 7 to 10 bahas jus to get the darn yellow crystal.

crystal is one of the legendaries I don't want to see along with orc champion and the new ugly Invoker.

If you also use energy, here's a tip, do it so it's 3:1 ratio of S/E use on the monster. Its very imbalanced the way the loot calculator works for using Stamina or Energy or both.

So if I'm a cleric then I should use 120 stamina for 40 energy right.

Its just weird the way it calculates if you use both in abundance as it seems to favor one over the other for loot calculation.

Pure energy and pure stamina use can almost get the exact same loot. However when mixed, it really sucks. I've done it in waves of both depending on which class I choose when I fight.

I will try that cus I always dump everything in to one monster all the time and always come out with **** for lootz

According to the "Loot Drops" tab:

Crystal Drops:
You have chances (depending on activity) to receive one of each crystal each time you slay a Volcanic Dragon. Additionally your chances are increased when other players of different level ranges participate more.

Sounds like the activity meter needs to go up. Mine are always full for the 150+ crowd and low for the rest. Could be why I only have two crystals.
