Apprentice rewards

I got a message today that due to my Apprentce's advancement I was being rewarded with the hero Darius. But I already had Darius so i didn't get a reward. Is there anyway to get an alternate reward?

There is no alternate reward... you just still get the pop-up telling you about Darius each time an apprentice reaches level 50.

Darius was originally a Master & Apprentice reward before the devs decided to add the guy as a reward in the Reinforcement thing.

Yeah I just think of all the extra money I saved using Darius before my apprentice hit level 50 as my alternate reward.
