Just a curious thing I noted about using links to make a higher stamina attack. It seems like when I use the higher stamina attack on Alpha Bahamut, the damage when it retaliates is correspondingly higher - so, is there actually any point using a higher stamina attack?

When you have tens of thousands of stamina to consume, you need the high sta button.

I see, so its not really for the purpose of lower retals? I thought it would mean less retal hence going through the trouble of doing the links and saving the stamina for a 50 stamina attack- but if doesn't really make much difference I might as well just hit with whatever stamina button I have.

If you get a crit, you get a mutliplier to that crit... that's about it. Nice when it turns into 500,000 - 1,000,000 damage.

That is one of the reasons. You have a chance of getting a really low retaliatory attack, or sometimes it'll do the highest retaliatory damage with the stam multiplier.

2500~15000 damage back when hitting Azriel with a 50 stam. - Great.

10000~22500 damage back when hitting Genesis with a 50 stam - wat

Yes, I pulled these numbers out of my arse.

Hit any monster with a health bar repeatedly with 1-stam attacks and prepare to be chained.

if you got leftover stamina or energy when abaout to level it can be of use :)

That is the main reason. Along with Barbarus or OK, you can get several hundred EXP into level with leftover stamina/energy.

Another thing to think about is the party health bar. If you do 10, 5 stamina attacks at full health, the first will be a full health, the next will be slightly lower, so on and so on.

If you do 1, 50 stamina attack it is taken at full health. Slightly more damage done since you have a higher party health.

Some attacks will drop loots like Axe or something. It would be better to use the lower stamina attack instead to maximize the number of loot per stamina if you looking for those item drops.

Except that the DTC battle has a health bar, ergo you WILL be chained into oblivion/removed from armies if you do that.

I like using the 50 stamina attack because the improved potential experience gain - it can go horribly wrong of course, since getting 44 experience for 50 stamina is really bad, but I've had more than 350 experience for the same stamina before - THAT is something to savour!

so the RATE of stamina/energy recovery is not fixed at 5 minutes? it decreases when you are higher level ?

I've actually found that the overall exp gain for 5 stam attacks is higher than 10 stam attacks.

For example: My current Monster battle give me 15-18 exp per 5 stam attack, but 20-22 exp per 10 stam attack. So if I use the same stamina I get 30-36 exp with the same stamina use.

What are you talking about? It's 5 minutes for everyone.
