View Full Version : Is there a way to view my entire army?

Sometimes I want to check whether somebody is already a member of my army but it appears there is no simple way to do so. I can page through the list of army members, but it is not sorted in any obvious order so it takes a while to find a specific name.
Is there any simple way to display the entire army at once? Or display a list of Army members that is sorted instead of appearing random?

They are sorted by ID - which is of no use to any normal person like you and me *lol* but it's not random. They're in numerical order. I would much prefer they were alphabetical though.

Thanks. I'd hoped for better news.
I could probably figure out a way to use any sort order IF the tabs in the View Army page were labeled in a way that helped decide where to start searching. As it is, finding a specific army member is an exercise in frustration.

You could try to look up their ID on their profile page... that way, if one starts with 9 at least you'd know not to start looking from the first page... other than that, I really don't know how to make it easier.

Agree.. I h@te that they cant let us decide what tosort by, or atleast sort by NAME or when Joined!
Anyway.. To find peeps you could always look at source code and search..
Would be much faster then going trough loads of pages by clicking.. Especially since you cant choose freely witch page to look at.. 1,2,3.....7,.9 etc.. So to go to 5 i must go to tree, then four then finally i can click five..Silly :p

We need an army Search feature...but I'm sure the Devs do not care about that..no FP buying involved.. :(

You can access each individual page of your Army list using this link:
http://apps.facebook.com/castle_age/army_member.php?page=#
and replacing # with the actual page number you wish to visit.
I created an Excel spreadsheet that accesses each page in sequence, allowing me to copy data and paste it into my spreadsheet, where I have several macro scripts that process the data and produce a sorted list of Army members. The longest time duration of the entire process is selecting the data to be copied from each Army Member Page.
That process involves clicking at the upper left edge of the first member, then scrolling to the bottom right edge of the last member, in order to copy the whole list of names from that page.
I am continually working on improving my macro set to add or correct functionality. It takes time do this but I have time to kill, and I am learning quite a bit about using features of Excel that I did not understand before.

If you go to give your army members gifts then names come up in alphabetical order. :)

http://apps.facebook.com/castle_age/party.php?twt=jneg&jneg=true&user=######&lka=#######&ref=nf (elite guard link)
replace the ##s with the person's FB ID number
to get that "You can also see all of your friends IDs by going to http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/ and scrolling down and clicking on the Friends link in the second list." http://articles.businessinsider.com/2011-06-01/tech/29973999_1_facebook-user-mark-zuckerberg-social-network
(that brings up a page listing every one of your friends by name with their ID numbers, use your browser search to find the specific friend.)
If you can attack or invade.. they are not in your army.

The names of Army members can include people who are not currently in your Friends list.
The only names that show up in the Gift List are those that are current Friends.
Your Entire list of Friends will include people who do not play Castle Age.
The API listed above will produce a list of ALL of your Friends, with nothing to indicate what groups they may be in.
That leaves no easy method of determining ALL of the members in your army.

If you login using an ios device, it is a lot easier to look at your army.
