anyone want to help me with my essay? i need a counter arguement. so i need someone to find a article that says people don't see race in sports and that there isn't a problem. just need something to put in the essay and then prove wrong. please help if you can haha. Sorry but i have to try to see if someone is bored enough to help.

Race is very important in some sports and not so much in other sports. But often the other aspects of the game overshadow the race. For example in baseball, a pitcher throws the ball and the batter put the ball into play. The defense attempts to field the ball before it hits the ground. If the ball does hit the ground then the defense attempts to throw the ball to one of the bases to stop the hitter or one of the other offensive players from advancing. Many races may have been involved during the play, but was anyone focusing on the race, no.

But with the articles i had to read for class more focused around peoples thinking that white people can't win in a sprint and it's about have there are no black hockey players or nascar drivers. and in basketball the top players are all black and hardly more than one white guy on the court at a time. or a black QB in like the 80/90s. or a white running back/ WR

Google is your friend for searching for articles, but if you want a counter argument that applies generally with race . . .

It's been well established that people are generally honest when they answer polls except about racism. People consistently lie more often than not by a large margin about whether they are racist - even in anonymous polls.

Anyway, you might want to check out a couple of speeches that Tim Wise did, either White Like Me or The Pathology of White Privilege.

I know this doesn't help, but if I can recall correctly, the U.S. all star basketball team for the east consisted of mostly african americans; the west seemed diversed. Of course, I'm from the west so I'm probably biased.

haha no i can't even though i would. it has to be based on race and in sports. and how people look at the race in sports. like i talked about Jeremy Warnier. that white sprinter that won in athens in 2004

That is so true!!! So much more white people do it. Of course, the black guy was one of the best(I hear). I just can't believe he would be so stupid to destroy his own image. He still had both of his hands and a wife before the incident so...

kind of going off my topic and onto yours. i find it sad that everything on the news is about how black athletes are always doing stuff to get in trouble. and they spent countless hours on sports center talking about tiger woods. but never do they cover when white athletes are in serious trouble. like with the case brought against Big Ben. ( i am a steelers fan) but still you didn't really hear anything about the supposed ****. but a black athlete cheated on his wife and it was everywhere

When Big Ben had his wreck, it was covered continuously for weeks. **** accusations are treated more cautiously following the destruction of the Duke Lacrosse team following the false accusations or ****.

By the way. Tiger Woods is not black, just ask him. He has never identified himself as Black.

Not making any statement about race, but you pretty much fail at essay writing.

The whole point of researching evidence for your argument is to make sure you have an argument supported by the evidence. You, on the other hand, are just looking for any available evidence to support your argument, which may or may not be a good one, but you don't care because you already decided.

Here are the steps one should take in writing an essay, for future reference:

1) Pick topic. (Is race in sports? Yes or no.)
2) Do research. (One guy says no and 20 say yes.)
3) Make conclusion. (No seems to be the more valid answer.)
4) Write paper showing the steps you just took to get to (3).


So... English fail.

Sorry, it's a subject close to my heart.
