I like Metallica S&M. Michael Kamen rocked. I was very sad when he died.

I like some of Guns and Roses.

My husband and I were going to go to a Metallica concert in Dallas but both got sick before the show and gave the tickets to my son and daughter-in-law. They got into a fight before Metallica came on and missed Metallica!

I'm a Dead Head, but I do like Metallica and Pantera.

The Metallica black album (?...you know what I mean) was awesome IMO

Count me in.

Some random favorites: Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Kamelot, Black Sabbath, Soilwork, In Flames, Dio, Static-X, Pyramaze, Edguy, Blind Guardian, Devildriver, Fear Factory, Ozzy, Spineshank, Damageplan (never could get much into Pantera because I don't like Phil Anselmo's singing).

The Black Album was the end of Metallica, And Justice for All (One) was the precursor to this.

Wow, some good threads coming out here... Always been a metalhead - the hippie "rebel without a clue" of the 80's on too many mushrooms kind :D Brings back memories of the mosh pits - 50 of us beating the crap out of each other just trying to headbang LOL

Still love maiden - dickenson always had that unmistakable voice. metallica still does it for me, some of the best guitar ever - that fade to black intro, just fantastically clean with the acoustics. Mustaine still freaks me out in sweating bullets. :D

Even some of todays bands - Ever listen to Staind? I seen them in concert - so underrated. Can hear the pain and anger in the music. But then again i've always been a sucker for power ballad.

Metallica is one of my all time favorite bands, hands down. I don't care if you want to preach that they sold out ... they still rock.

I'm going to be here next month:

ultra music festival (http://www.ultramusicfestival.com/)

Went last year and it was a blast. (Miami) We are flying this year and going earlier so we have time to do the some tourist stuff. We bought our tickets early and got a good deal on them. We booked airfare, hotel, and car rental online and got a great deal with package. 5 round trips from DFW to Ft. Lauderdale,2 rooms for 5 star Hilton at Yacht Marina 5 nights, and a mid size SUV for 6 days, under $3,000. My husband is a good bargain hunter.

It will be my husband, my daughter-in-law, son, and grqandson and me attending. Last year we bought the tickets , but drove down Wed night and all day Thursday..got delayed like 2 hours because of a tornado that did destruction on road ahead of us, and were miserably tired. We drove back Sunday morning, into the night Sunday night. Not happening like that again!

Brujerķa ( Lot Of Fun!)

Hey, Maguita. I saw Brujeria in San Antonio, Tx a few years ago. One of the best shows I've been to. Love them.

All in all, I am more into black metal, and some death metal.

fav's:
Gorgoroth
Burzum
Cradle of Filth
Children of Bodom
God Dethroned
Bethlehem
Behemoth (saw them live in Poland with Slayer... very awesome!)

etc....

I just love dark music in general... some goth, industrial, definitely militaristic industrial, and neofolk.

Man, I can't believe you guys are leaving out Anthrax, one of my favs of all time, I mean the whole stinkin "Among The Living" album rocks the god damned bells. At least you guys rememebred to mention Maiden and Bruce's air-raid siren of a voice. To whoever wrote in about "The balck album" it was the death knell for metallica. They just kinda pooped out on us, they're best albums were "Ride The Lightning", "Master Of Puppets", and "And Justice for All". They should have stuck to this format and left the Irish Folk tunes for the river dancers and Thin Lizzy. This thread made me think about SEpultura though, and that's a good thing. MOSH ON guys!

Among The Living is a classic but I prefer Spreading the Disease just a little more, they are both 10s though. And Arise is one of the best thrash albums ever, a true masterpiece

****!!!! I forgot all about Brujeria, that is some of the most brutal **** I've ever heard. It blew my mind when I read some of the translations. I don't think they care for us gringos too much. I heard that they are actually all americans and members of other "big" bands, anyone know?

Maidendeth

You want brutal and just flat out heavy **** check out Pitbulls in the Nursery, so crushingly heavy

Hoping for at least the same awesome quality as before.

The improvement, in my opinion, from metal opera pt1 to pt2 was amazing.

Not sure who that is in your avatar...Is that Steve from Maiden?? Doesn't look like Mustaine, and i know it isn't Cliff -- not enough hair to be Cliff...

Been a Metalhead since my youth...in the 80's...was one of the original fans of Yngwie Malmsteen (back when he started with Steeler)...

now, I still listen to Yngwie & Metallica, but I am more into bands like Opeth, Meshuggah, Disturbed, Celtic Frost (an old band, but good nontheless), Lamb of God, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy (all ozzy...yes, Black Sabbath too) Killswitch Engage, Children of Bodom, Anathema, KoRn...I think you guys get the idea :p

Good thing about being a metal head is you don't have to wear a helm when going into battle.

No, but it sure can't hurt when you have people like me smacking you around. I don't consider the "Circle pits" of today moshing. Moshing would be this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7dnWB1BiRA
