Are you having trouble making sure everyone gets added to your army after sending out a mass invite? Or are you running out of requests and still wanting to add more people to your army? If so then this guide will help you out quite a bit. Keep in mind that it is somewhat time consuming. Rest assured that your work will pay off in the end, because you will know the people are in your army and not floating around, lost, in your giant friends list.

I am writing this guide mainly to help friends and family with this issue. It is easier to write this than explain it 50 times. If this information is useful to you as well, outstanding, I am glad I could help you! If not please don’t flame the post. I am sure there are other ways of doing this, however this worked for me and I went from a small army of 30, to an army almost 400 overnight.

I hope this guide is not overwhelming, I broke it down the way I did because some of the people I am writing it for have very limited computer knowledge so I wanted it to be very user friendly. For a user with average computer skills, they could complete all the steps below in about 10-15 seconds. So it actually won’t take you long at all to use this method.

What this guide focuses on is the use of the Facebook ID number that everyone has. Some people use invite links, this makes it easy because all you do is click that link and you’re in the army. However, most people don’t know how to make and invite link to put on their profile or they just have not bothered to put one.

Following the method below it does not matter if they have a link or not you can do your own. I will break the steps down, please follow along if you’re new to this. Once you do it a few times you will understand the concept and it will become much faster.

Make sure you are friends with the person. You can’t add people to your army unless you are Facebook friends.

Open their profile of the person your wanting to add.

Step 3:

Go to the address bar at the top and copy their Facebook ID number. Just the number nothing else!

*Note* some users have converted their Facebook ID number to a name. No worries that is an easy fix. All you have to do is right click where you would send an email to them and click on “Copy Link Location” After you copied the location, paste it in the address bar at the top. It will now give you a URL link and it will include the Facebook ID link for you to use.

*HINT* To speed things up as you copy and paste. You can use “CTRL+C” to copy text after you highlight it and “CTRL+V” to paste that text where you want it.

Open notepad by clicking on the start menu at the bottom left of your screen. Go to “All Programs” then “Accessories” then “Notepad”

*NOTE* I use notepad because I was getting spacing errors using other programs like word. That made it so the person was not being added to my army.

Copy the following text into your notepad.

This is the invite link for Castle Ages. All you have to do to make it work is add the Facebook ID number that you should have obtained using the steps above. For example if you were adding me, your link would look like this.

*HINT* I saved a copy of this notepad to my desktop by clicking on “File” on the top right, then on “Save as” The reason for that is I don’t have to retype the add link every time. The only thing I have to do is open the notepad file I saved and copy over the old Facebook ID with the new one I am adding.

Step 6:

Copy the invite link you made in step 4, into the address bar in your browser. It will then take you into Castle Ages and the person will be added to you army.

*NOTE* There seems to be a bug with the army number updating right away. So if you want to make sure the person you just added actually made it to your army, then click on “My Army” on the top right and it will be updated to the correct number.

Keep in mind that this method will work on any game that has a working invite link. The concept is still the same, so remove the word NUMBER and put the Facebook ID in its place.

I made pictures and posted them in this guide, but for some reason they are not showing up. If a moderator knows what I need to to to remedy this problem please let me know. I was using photbucket then changed it to imageshack and I am still having an issue. So I will wait for a moderator.

for the pics to show up, you need to use links that end in a picture format, like *.jpg. Yours are of the form "http://www.XXXXX.com/file.jpg/"

The slash in the end prevents the code to be executed corectly. Use some other online service, like tinypic.com or other relevant service that uses links in the form of "http://www.xxxx.com/file.jpg"

Ok this was not meant to have all the links removed. It was a post to show people how to add others without having to send a request or gift not to serve as an invite thread. By you removing the links above it messed it all up. I am adding them back in but putting them as code so people can see how its worded.

:eek:Ok.. Thats stupid :p

How the links should really look like..(Silly.. The code tag doesn't do its job. parsing code without executing it:p)

PUNKLE! Thank you! I never thought about that and I fixed it so its working like its supposed to thanks. :D

About the invite links. Yeah I think they should all be universal that would make things nice! But I tried it with the name because I was trying to set a family member up that way and it wouldn't work until I replaced the name with the Facebook ID number.
