So, I finally made it to Lt. General... and now I'm getting my butt handed to me!
Do you think level 92 is too late to turn around bad stat point distribution? I parceled it out evenly between ATK and DEF up until a few levels ago when I decided which one I wanted to focus on. Now the gap is growing, but not very quickly.
How long do you think it will take before I start seeing a difference in my battle outcomes?

Level 92 is not to latw to change things unless you have 500 energy of something stupid like that.
When I started to change my point distribution - it took around 10 levels for the affects to become really noticeable.

That would depend on your ratio between attack and defense. Also the amount of points you put into Stamina, health and energy. If you remain dedicated to fixing your stat point distribution you will get there. Don't be in a hurry just be dedicated. A good rule of thumb and an early saying of mine is... You can choose who you attack but not who attacks you. That saying has guided my decisions greatly. Good luck to you.

Words to fight by IMO as well.

I have always used a reasonably close att/def balance and it hasn't done me much harm 26,000 wins to just 1000 losses

Yeah, but how many of those battles happened under the old combat formula, where Attack and Defense were weighted equally?
So, I'm going to throw out some obviously false hypothetical stats. Let's say that I have exactly 500 stat points allocated to attack and defense, evenly distributed. Let's also say that another two players have the same amount of combat points allocated, but the first one (Player A) has 350 ATK and 150 DEF. Player B has the opposite, 150 ATK and 350 DEF.
So, every time player A attacks me, I will lose. Every time I attack player B, I will lose. Every time I attack player A, I will win, and every time player B attacks me, I will win.
So, all in all, that is fairly balanced. Having even distribution doesn't suck, so long as you have the same amount of combat stats as your opponents. The problem comes from the fact that the playing field includes people with more total combat points.
So lets take people who are 20-40 levels higher than me. These represent the bulk of my opponents, especially now that I'm in the final battle tier. Assume that they have 150-300 more combat points to play with (levels plus demi bonuses and quests) and we get:
Player A: 455-560 ATK and 195-240 DEF
Player B: 195-240 ATK and 455-560 DEF
Player C: 325-400 ATK/DEF
Now you see that I will sometimes win and sometimes lose attacking player A, and always lose attacking players B and C. Player A can **** me at will as usual, but now player B will also sometimes be able to hit me, and player C will always win attacks against me too.
If I had a distribution like Player A or B I would fare much better against higher level players.
So... obviously it would take me a LONG time to achieve a 70-30 split in favor of one stat or another. But how long do you guys suppose it will take me to get enough of an edge in my favored stat to allow me to compete with more higher level players?
